The Place I Come from
The Place I Come From is Like.. Many of us have a different view of our home town. Some cannot wait to leave, while others never want to leave their mother’s couch. Some look at it as a paradise, free of worries or decision making, while others look at it as their own personal hell, full of people and places they despise. I, on the other hand, have a different view of my hometown. It is not exactly what I would call a perfect, pleasant, island getaway, paradise but it is not what I imagine hell would be like either. It has its downfalls, rainy days, and “hellish” things about it, but it would not be the same without them. I would never describe it as something ordinary or picturesque. It has its own special characteristics. The place I come from is like a refrigerator. Specifically, think of all the random condiment packets that end up in your refrigerator. There could be anything from ketchup to soy sauce to mild sauce from Taco Bell. You really have no clue how you have such a variety in there but sometimes you find yourself thankful for it. Just like finding random sauce, in my town you find random things to get into. You could be at a rodeo one weekend and find yourself at an MMA fight the next. Nearly everyone in town could be at the high school football game or sitting in old Wal-Mart parking lot. It may not always be the greatest thing to do in the world, but you may possibly have a night you will never forget. Like ordering a taco in town then returning home to see they forgot to put your sauce in the bag, just to surprisingly find that Taco Bell packet in your refrigerator, that boring night you are having in Lexington, TN, could turn out to be something quite memorable. On the contrary, what about pouring a bowl of Captain Crunch just to open the door of your refrigerator and see your milk expired two days ago; Cereal and water now?
