The Phantom Menace
Where it all started, somewhat. The prequels are my generation. They bring me back to when I was a toddler and that is where the admiration of all Star Wars films germinated. With assumption that everyone has seen The Phantom Menace, a synopsis is unnecessarily.
The theatrical highlight was Queen Amidala and Queen Amidala’s decoy. The out-of-this-galaxy makeup and robes made it difficult to differentiate one another. In the element of who seemed to trust their own costumed characters the most, diplomats, inhabitants on Tatooine, and inactive Jedi embodies them. To explain, the diplomats have familiar 18th century styled hair and beards. Also, Mos Espa was filled with species that have non-CGI human traits of wearing enough to cover the sun

In the well-choreographed battle between Darth Maul against Jinn and Kenobi, the cinematics are the lightings from the plasma so everyone is exposed as the galaxy was in a spectrum of light at the time, contrary to cinematic fighting happening in the dark in the original. It does not seem choreograph as one understands that the art of sword-fighting is predicting your enemy’s moves. Although being guided by the force is a major advantage. In context of film editing, they are able to utilize special effects and stunt doubles to make these backflips happen. Consequently, dialogue is less important as it is no longer needed to shield its lack of creative slashing. How was one able to tell during the fights that communication was involved with lack of dialogue? During the beginning, Jinn and Kenobi are facing opposites of another against a platoon of battle droids. They adapt to the techniques of the droids in later parts of the film. Also, a notable example is when Darth Maul, Jinn and Kenobi were in defensive stance, and Kenobi falsely pushes forward and Jinn simultaneously actually attacks.     Each film starts off with the phrase, "In a galaxy far far away." From that line, audiences can indicate that the world in which they are about to be immersed into is nothing like they have ever seen or read. With each movie, audiences see how the location in which Luke lives, Tatooine, versus where his twin sister Leia lives, Alderaan. Tatooine is seen as dirty and almost everyone who lives there is a merchant or builder of some sort. When looking into Alderaan, Leia obviously had a comfortable life, stemming from the fact that she was a princess. A perfect example of depth of story is when George Lucas focuses on the psychological state of Luke Skywalker and the information he knows. Later on, audiences would find out the rest of the story about Luke and Leia, with the prequels, but up until then, not a soul had a clue that Darth Vader was Luke and Leia's father. However, looking through Luke's eyes, all we see is a boy who is struggling to understand what the force is. When looking through Darth Vader's eyes, all we see is a villain who would have had a completely different path if he would not have chosen to go to the dark side. However, there are two characters who know more than what they lead on, truly manipulating the mind of others and proving their depth of knowledge is greater.
