The Most Dangerous Game Compare And Contrast Essay
Fighting against someone is never easy, especially when they have advantages. This happens in the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" when the main character, Sanger Rainsford, gets stranded on Ship-Trap Island. He ends up battling the man who lives there, General Zaroff. This also happens in the movie High Noon. Will Kane, the marshal of Hadleyville, is being hunted down by Frank Miller, a man who Kane sent up for murder, and Miller's posse. Although the setting in High Noon and "The Most Dangerous Game" are similar, the main charters and conflict are different. The two settings from the movie and the short story are alike. "Street from Kane's point of view. It is completely deserted" (Foreman 326). Kane was alone because nobody wanted to help him fight against Frank Miller because they were scared. He was left stranded by his friends. "Rainsford know he could do one of two things. He could stay where he was and wait. That was suicide. He could flee. That was postponing the inevitable" (Connell 230). Rainsford had no help, and was apart from everyone. Just like Kane, Rainsford is alone. There is no one there to help him.
