The Most Compelling Argument for the Bible Being the Word of God Is the Unique Revelation of Jesus Christ
I find the most compelling argument for the Bible being the Word of God is the Unique Revelation of Jesus Christ. He is by far, the greatest man that ever walked the face of the earth. Essentially every aspect of human life has been changed in some way, because of the life & teachings of Jesus.

As a follower of Christ it is not merely what He taught, but who the person of Jesus Christ claimed to be and what he practiced while He was here on earth that convinces me of who He is. Dr Towns explains it this way on page 2; “ Jesus Christ affirmed his deity by applying to Himself the statement of Jehovah, ‘I am’”. Jesus was equating Himself with God. Additionally, as a man, He was the carbon copy of God in His attributes. In Matthew & John, Jesus proclaimed to be all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful. Jesus made statements establishing Himself as indistinguishable from God. But the most sovereign declaration Jesus made was about forgiving sins, which is found in Luke 5. It is the story of Jesus healing the paralyzed man, starting in verse 20 “When Jesus saw their faith, he said, ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven.’ 21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, ‘Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?’ 22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, ‘Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.’” God and God alone can forgive sins.

No one ever communicated like Jesus, accomplished the things that he did or professed the things that he professed about Himself. Dr. Towns couldn’t have stated it better, “The all-encompassing characteristics of Jesus Christ point to the uniqueness of His revelation, which in turn points to the Bible as being the Word of God” Page 3. In my mind, there is no greater

Many ask, “Is the Bible the Word of God?” Dr. Elmer Towns compiled 10 arguments that the Bible is in fact the Word of God. Choosing one of these 10 persuading arguments was a daunting task as they are all equally convincing in my eyes. The extraordinary claims that the Bible is from God intrigued me the most.…

The questions that are asked and need to be answered in are, what makes Jesus so different, can you keep a good man down and Isn’t there some other way. I recently read where Christians faith in Christ is firmly rooted in history and those of us who put faith in Christ have plenty ground to stand on. What made Jesus different can be summarized in the acts that he was able to perform and given the fact that Jesus was the only one that claimed to be God. His friends both understood and accepted this claim. His enemies however did not accept what he said and that leads us to the question of exactly who is Jesus.…

The Bible has authority in it as being the word of God. The authority the Bible comes from God that is given to the people by an inspiration and revelation by the power of the Holy Spirit from God. God said in His word that He is the Great I Am. Inspiration is nothing more than a revelation, or shall I say, a mere comforting and confirming word from God. As it states in John 16:33 "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace, in this would you will have trouble. But take heart; I have overcome the world." Once inspiration has been given then we move into inerrancy; which is not demonstrable. This teaches you how to interpret things correctly. It helps us to tap into our faith to learn the hidden miracles and treasures that God has in the Bible. This is why it is very important, according to Proverbs 3:5-6 "to trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct thy paths." In defending inerrancy I chose to stand behind the Biblical Argument because as it states in Evangelical Dictionary of Theology, 2nd ed; “The scriptures are the breath of god; which guaranteed they are without error." John 1:1 reads "In the beginning was the word, the word was with God, and the word was God." Just as God blew His (Ruah) breath into Adam to bring life to him; He did the same to the word when Jesus came down to the earth in the form of a baby. God is not a man that He should lie. He said in His word that Heaven and earth shall pass away but His word shall remain forever. The historical argument speaks from the church perspective as it related to doctrines and traditions such as the Sadducees and the Pharisee’s in the Old Testament as it pertained to the Sabbath. Nevertheless, epistemologies arguments have to be proven. Look at the resurrection of Jesus. In order for Thomas, a disciple whom walked with Jesus, was…

The Holy One, Word of God, Emmanuel, and Son of God, these names describe one man: Jesus Christ. No other person in the history of the world is more well known or respected. The man born of a virgin and raised by a carpenter. He taught kindness and compassion while driving out hate and corruption, and his own people, the Jews, and the Romans put him to death for preaching the good news. Jesus’ impact on the world is unparalleled. Wars were fought in his name. The church, his lasting gift, influenced life for almost two-thousand years in Europe. The modern world is truly shaped by this man. One may wonder who, if anyone, can match this man in any manner. While no mortal is even on the same level as Jesus, similarities can still be drawn.…

Now how do we know Jesus is God? Acts 10:38 reads, “ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” God appointed him to be the Christ. His own people declared him to be the true prophet, their Messiah. In John 1:41, Andrew tells his brother Simon upon their becoming disciples of Christ that” We have found the Messiah.” In Romans 9 Paul is expressing his anguish for his people of Israel over their rejection of Jesus Christ when in verse 5 he says concerning Israel’s bloodline, “ Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen! “…

Jesus, who was he. Some believe he was the son of God. Others believe he was a man trying to steal the throne. Jesus taught christianity to others. He wasn’t the only one teaching it. His twelve disciples helped him. Jesus was a Jew and many people hate Jews (Like Hitler, for example). Some say he died and some say he didn’t. People who believe he died say that he was crucified on the cross for his teaching and for being a Jew. People who believe he didn’t die say that he risen and is now in…

Being able to understand why the Bible is the Word of God is important. If you are not able to clearly articulate why the Bible is the Word of God, then your witness to others is affected. The article, Arguments that the Bible is the Word of God, provides us with 10 arguments that the Bible is spoken Word from God. I think the most convincing argument that the Bible is the Word of God is the unique revelation of Jesus Christ because it simply puts whom Jesus Christ is and how the Bible clearly states the deity of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches us that the unique revelation of Jesus Christ is “that the person of Christ existed before Creation, that He was the Creator, that He manifested Himself in the Old Testament through Christophanies, that He was born of a virgin and came into the world as the God-man.” (Page 1, Arguments that the Bible is the Word of God). What stands out most to me is that Jesus was born of a virgin. No other person in history is documented to be born from a virgin other than Jesus Christ.…

The argument I find to be most convincing is the one that says, THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD BECAUSE OF ITS UNIQUE REVELATION OF THE PERSON OF CHRIST, the reason why this is so compelling to me because it is human nature that we “believe” in something. As human beings we are easily to be influence and persuaded (as Adam and Eve were in Genesis 3). Of course, if you believe in the BIBLE. That is why I find it so interesting that it is easy for men to argue about whether or not the BIBLE is true base upon the teachings of JESUS CHRIST. There are some who would argue and say that if JESUS just proclaimed that HE was a teacher of the WORD of GOD that would be believable, but to go as far as proclaiming to be the SON of GOD and having the form of deity, that within it self is what seems to be unbelievable! However, when it comes to the teachings of JESUS CHRIST (WORD OF GOD) there are so many reasons why we should believe HIM (first and foremost ‘WE HAVE LIFE’), but that one reason has not deterred the persuasion of our being is the cause of some other higher power or basic science. This argument will undeniably go on forever! I for one happen to be a believer of the BIBLE, and one of my favorite scriptures is Malachi 3:10: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” In my opinion, it should not take a rocket scientist to figure this out, for those who have some kind of doubt about the WORD of GOD, just ask yourself a simple question: “If you do decide to believe in JESUS CHRIST, what you have to lose?”….. (If the BIBLE is God’s Book, we must accept its message and respond accordingly). We do this by putting GOD’s Word to a test, hence “Old Testament & New Testament.” The bottom line is this, it is IMPOSSIBLE to comprehend the mind of GOD; this is…
