The Mayan Empire
The Mayan empire was a pre-Columbian civilization located in Central America near the Mexico - Guatemala border. These geniuses lived about 500 -600 years B.Sc. They developed technology that rivaled the masterminds of that era in the Eurasian continent. There is evidence that leads to running water, sewer systems and the concept of 0 which did not come to existence in the old world hundreds of years later. This empire was all about religion, their gods, and human sacrifice. Since there was an urgency to please the gods Mayan rulers conquered neighboring tribes and sacrificed them to their gods. Tikal was one of the most influential tribes in the Yucatan peninsula, but it wasn’t like this all the time. Another influential tribe named Calakmul had gained support among the neighboring tries if Tikal and decided to vanquish the Tikal tribe. Yikin Chan Kawil a powerful Tikal ruler wanted to show how influential his empire really was and with manpower and the intelligent engineers of Tikal the jaguar was built. This monument oversaw the valley and just poured out awesomeness. Finally Tikal beat Calakmul which in turn led Yikin to build dozens of buildings in honor of the victory. Well According to his magnificent tomb Pacal wasn’t even holy in the first place .Pacal had been a relative of the Mayan hierarchy and his mother had taken him to Palenque to be crowned at the age of 14 emperor of Palenque. Since his lineage was not divine he proclaimed his mother to be the supreme mother of all things the creator goddess. Pacal wanted to prove this by being splashy and different with his architecture.
