THE MAJOR FACTOR THAT CONTRIBUTES TO HIGH RATE OF CRIME IN URBAN AREAS
INTRODUCTION
In the recent years urban areas have been a transit, and destination for men,women and children trafficked for forced labour and sexual exploitation.Not only that other people move to urban areas to seeek better lives,services such as health and to escape the bad conditions of the rural areas.

There are several reasons why people migrate to urban areas from the rural areas.Such reasons are poor education facilities in the rurals,poor health services in the rural areas,to escape drought and diseases such as malaria,to seek jobs and employment and to get better services like electricity and good water supply.

There are several factors that lead to increased crime rate in urban areas such as rural urban migration as mention above,poverty,lack of jobs and employment opportunities,high standards of living in urban areasincrease in slums in urban areas,lack of inner morality in the people and lastly but not least increase in the population of people in urban areas.

RURAL URBAN MIGRATION
During the past few years the process of rural urban migration has been more rapid and massive than before.Many migrates move to urban areas in search for jobs and employment opportunitieseducation,better services and get better lives compared to the rural livelyhood.Although rural urban migration has played a very big role in the increase of the crime rate in urban areas.
This because of the increase in population leading to lack of employment and high standards of living leading to formulation of slums.And these people who are unemployed all end up engaging in criminal activities so as to earn a living and take care of themselves and their families.

POVERTY
The factors present in poverty stricken urban areas that produce high crime rate are many.One of them is lack of entertainment.There is no entertainment and nothing for kids to do but to look for trouble in these areas.There are no safe parks or alternative activities for them to participate in.Another
