The Lightning Bolt

One day Zeus went to go see Posiedon. So they can make a deal so they dont have to fight. Because a long time ago they got into a fight about something stupid because Posiedon said he was better than Zeus. So they decided to make a lightning bolt. The lightning bolt was big, loud, lighting strikes every time it would flash. And the strikes were bright. It was as bright as a light bulb. So that day they got all their materials around. The next day they made the lightning bolt. Zeuas and Posiedon decided to have a reason why they made the lighting bolt. They made it because they wanted something different in the god/goddess world and because they had to make a deal. Posiedon wanted to make it because he knew alot about the sky. Zeus wanted to mkae it because he liked flashes. They knew one day someone would find it in the real world. The next day once they made the lightning bolt , they went and put it in a cloud for a stormy day. It stormed that night and they watched it from their house window and they knew now it was a lightning bolt. Zeus wrote a letter to Posieon after they had all their fun with lthe lighting bolt. It said:
Dear Posiedon, That was a fun day yesterday. I'm sorry about what happened between us the past few years. If you could ever forgive me I would like that. I liked the idea of a lightning bolt. I never knew how much you knew about the sky and all that. Anyways I liked the idea. Hope we can be friends again. Yours truly, Zeus
Posiedon finally wrote back to Zeus saying:
Dear Zeus, I got your letter. Yeah I'm sorry to. That lightning bolt is really bright. That was a great idea. And I never knew you liked flashes either.(weird)I also hope we can be friends again. Yours truly, Posiedon 5 weeks later a boy named Percy Jackson found the lightning bolt from the real wolrd. Zeus and Posiedon were shocked that soemone found it. But Zeus didnt tell Posiedon something about Percy Jackson.

References to Greek mythology pervade much of popular Western culture, and although some allusions may go unnoticed for those without a background in mythology. The study of classical mythology is not a standardized, widespread component of education, and thus there is a gap in understanding of these references for many people. One book that sought to popularize Greek mythology amongst young students was Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, which topped the children’s bestsellers lists just under ten years ago. Percy Jackson, a teenager living in New York City, is the protagonist in this novel and embodies the Greek hero Perseus in his relationship with his mother and the quest on which he embarks. While any competent reader can understand the…

The section of school that hates him isn’t the old home of the series’ big evil, but the most competitive section of students, the children of the God of War, Ares. And instead of Quidditch, Percy finds himself participating in a chariot race. The world of The Lightning Thief brings Greek mythology into the modern world. Who knew that Mount Olympus was located on floor 1000 of the Empire State Building? Or that the Greek gods are responsible for the spread of Western civilization? “Zeus, yours is the power, Zeus, what man on Earth override it, who can hold it back? Power that neither Sleep, the all-ensnaring no, nor the tireless months of heaven can ever overmaster-young through all time mighty lord of power, you hold fast the dazzling crystal mansions of Olympus.” (678-684). The chorus is asking Zeus who can overthrow the curse or stop it. It goes on to describe how no matter how much time has passed and if the youth gains power, none of them can break the curse nor hold a candle close to Zeus. No one in the next generations could ever surpass the power of Zeus. Zeus holds the most power out of all the gods on Olympus. He holds more power than ever his own brothers, Poseidon and Hades. What the quote is essentially saying is that the only way the curse can be released is if Zeus lifted it with his own power. Other than that, the curse will stay…

After completing his hard labor and creating the walls of Troy, the King refuses to pay wages to Poseidon. Angered and betrayed, the god of the sea then sends a sea monster to attack Troy. Hey, I know we haven’t talked to each other or seen each other in a while, but I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately and I want you to know I miss you. I regret what happened. I want to see you again. I just miss you. I just miss you. I miss you. It is so strange that someone I knew so well, is now a total stranger to me. That sometimes I go entire days without thinking about you. Most of the time I let myself forget because it is easier. But I find something, a photo, a gift, and the stupid love letters we used to give to each other. The full weight of what is being tossed crushes down on me. Part of me wants to see you again, hold you again, and all of those feelings become empty thought. When I look back at it now, remembering that love isn’t always what it seems. It is just so easy to forget, but this isn’t regret. We had our reasons for ending it and they were as valid as ever. But back at the start, back when it all began, we didn’t need any reasons to fall in love. We just did. The reasons came at the end……
