The Joys of Home
Before I am going to start my speech, I would like all of you to think of a person who possesses my following criteria. She is a supplier of strong wifi connection, sufficient people’s basic needs, and a strong and powerful flow of warmth. (3 sec) It’s our HOME! In my mind, home is not just an apartment, instead it is like a mysterious and colorless magician who manages to link all my family members together, back me up in times of hardships, and turn my frowns into smiles whenever I am upset.
Let me share a story with you all. There was once a teenager named X, who ran away from home after a fight with his parents. Bringing nothing with him, he felt lonely and starved. However, he refused to go back because he has not yet swallowed his pride. Feeling more and more depressed as he walked on an endless road, he stopped at a restaurant. It wasn’t the photos of the food that fascinated him but, it was the decoration of the place that reminded him of his own home. He suddenly realized that he misses home so badly that nowhere else but home will offer him free meals and provide a shelter of security and protection for him. With tears hanging over his eyes, he ran back home as if he never found himself so grateful for home.
Have you ever been grateful to have a home? Have you always been complaining about how annoying your parents’ reminders are; or the lack of freedom manipulated in your parents’ hands? Actually, all these things are the components of the Joys of Home, and it is a basic but essential element to our life that we human have always been taken granted for. H-O-M-E, HOME, four simple alphabets linking together brings great deep meanings to every one of us. Therefore, I hope to remind all of us – to cherish our time with our family members, because Home is the best supplier ever of joys and love. This is the end of my sharing.
