Success is a Journey Not a Destination Some people may believe that the destination is more important that the journey. A quote from Ben Sweetland “Success is a journey, not a destination” When on a journey the destination doesn't matter because the journey will give you future success. When along a journey the destination does not matter but, the journey is what matters most because you the journey may affect one's future greatly. Along the journey one will gain experience no one could gain without it. There is the also the bond with the team along the trials of the journey. No matter the size or length of the journey one’s future will be affected greatly. In the story of the “The Ugly Duckling” the duck is born late and everyone thinks he is ugly and he goes through a long journey and becomes a beautiful swan. When all the other ducks are born the mama realizes that the biggest egg hasn’t hatched and says “No I declare, the largest egg lies there still. I wonder how long this is to last, I am quite tired of it.”(Andersen 1) When the mama duck says this she is tired of sitting on the egg and wants to go teach the other baby ducks how to swim. After the ‘Ugly Duckling” egg is hatched he goes on a long journey and longs to be one of the white beautiful swans but thinks he has no chance. After a long winter the duck goes to the swans, not caring whether they will kill him or not. When he goes to swans to tell them to “Kill me,”(Andersen 35) he doesn't realize that he himself has turned into a swan until the other swan’s tell him and he looks at his reflection in the water and realizes his long journey had given him some experience and gave him a new
