The Importance of Punctuality
The Importance of Punctuality : Lateness is a sign of poor time management skills When you are late for appointments, meetings or work, you show a lack of respect for other people’s time as well as your own. Punctuality is a problem for many people.

How can we ensure that we keep appointments by arriving on time? Here are some suggestions:

1. Make up your mind that you will be punctual from now on. In many cases lateness is caused by a lack of commitment to arrive on time. Have the right mindset.

2. Record the commitment in your planner and also record the time you must leave the house or office in order to arrive on time. Plan to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early.

3. If you have a fair distance to travel, always allow more time than you think it will take.

4. Don’t be trapped by the one last thing syndrome. If you’re ready to leave and it's still early, leave anyway. Utilize the time at the other end rather than trying to finish one more task before you leave.

5. If you are not a morning person, but have early morning commitments, set the alarm a little earlier. Some of us may need to go to bed a little earlier to make this work.

When it comes right down to it, punctuality is a habit that can be developed. It takes great effort at first, but eventually simply happens. Habits are formed by repetition. If you want to acquire the habit of punctuality, you must repeat this behavior again and

Preparing for my day as professional mental health counselor takes time. When I am leaving work at the end of a busy day, I always take the time to look at my schedule for the next day. The first thing I do to prepare for my job the next day is to look at my schedule to see with whom I will be meeting with, and the time schedule for my first and last appointment. I familiarize myself with the clients I will be working with, and pull each clients file to refresh myself on our last session. This is necessary for me to prepare for the appointment. It is important for me to be prepared and show my client that I am in tune to what is going on with them. I used to do all this first thing in the morning but I have found that it works better for me if I do it at the end of my day. My being prepared helps me to give the client my full attention and helps the client to gain confidence in my abilities. It helps personalize the session between me, as the counselor, and them as the client.…

Being on time is important in everything you do especially in the military. By not being on time you can cause problems for not just you but other people as well. For instance if you are to be replacing someone and you are not on time you can make that person late because they had to wait for you. By just one person being late can disrupt the events of an entire day. An example of this is a platoon is going out to a field exercise for training and a soldier is late by fifteen minutes that can cause that entire platoon to be behind in getting out to the field exercise disrupting the agenda set by the platoon leader and platoon sargent. If you are late to an appointment you are taking up valuable time that could be used by another person. Another reason it is always important to be on time is if you are going to a job interview and you are not on time you could loose the position because it is a first impression of how your work ethic could be. Even if you just make plans with some friends to see a movie, you should be on time because if you are late you and your friends will miss part of the movie. In the military you can receive sever punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for not being on time. Some of the consequences can include loss of rank, loss of pay, and having to pull extra duty while under restriction. Repeatedly being late in the military could lead to a discharge from service. Similarly if you are constantly late for civilian employment you will face punishment that could include having your hours cut back, your earnings garnished, or possibly fired from that position. After creating a history of being late to a point that you are let go from your job, it can become difficult to find future employment due to the fact that employers will contact your previous line of employment to find out why you were released from your position within that company. Further more after making a history to your friends, family and your employers of not…

    * This is something about myself I have needed to change for a long time. It is not something I do intentionally to drive my family and friends crazy. I need to become a little more time oriented, so that I can be where I say I am going to be, at a certain time. I will show my family and friends that I can be on time to their events. My first goal is to sit down with a calendar, and write down already known events and times. This way I will not schedule more than one event at a time. Next, by having a planner, I can add any new events that occur in future. I will be able to check available dates and make sure I have nothing already planned. Lastly, by sticking to my schedule and planning ahead it should reduce the amount of time I am late. I know I always have to expect the unexpected, but at least I have control over the already known about.…

It’s the same with the army there is an unspoken understanding that everyone has to be there 10 minutes prior at their destination if some on says to be some were. also In some cultures being late is a huge sine of disrespect ,its like saying there time isn’t valuable like there not important ,but like in some cases everyone knows to be on time for a plane because you know if your late you miss that flight then you would have to wait for the next available flight out (which has happened to me for not planning ahead and not being on time) it’s the same with doctors appointments if you miss the appointment then you’ll have to wait for the person that was on time to get finished with his turn and might make you late for something else such as missing your daughters or sons game or resettle being late can sometimes has a domino effect on your whole day just because you wanted to watch 30 more minutes of that game instead of heading to work. Like Rev.W.fisk once said I give it my deliberate and solemn convictional that the individual who is habitually tardy in meeting an appointment, will never…

There are serveral reason why one should not be late to class. One reason would be that if you are late to class you are then behind in maybe an assignment your teacher has given and she would have to go over it again with you which shows irresponsibility which is not very good for you and your school record. Learning to be on time to class helps you in the future when you plan to get a job and if you don't learn to master this it could cost you in loosing your job because have it for sure that your boss will not tolerate a late employee. Being on time to class may seem difficult but if you really know how to manage your time in the morning or in between class periods you will find yourself having absolutley no problem getting to class on time. If you are having difficulties in the morning, one day you can time yourself to see how much time you use up to get yourself ready. That way you know what time to get up so you have enough time to do whatever it is in morning without having to rush and end up once again being late. And this way you could even have time to chat with friends before class and show your teachers you really care about your education. You could also take some time the night before going to school to find the things you will need the next morning that way you don't waste time looking for lost shoes or a comb. Also something that I do personally is change the time on my clock ten minutes forward that way you trick yourself into believing it is later than it really is, it works trust…
