The Importance Of Patriotism In The United States
Imagine this, George Washington strolls into the Constitutional Convention half an hour late. He reaches into his bag and pulls out a coffee stained paper that reads “U.S. Constitution” on the front. This is both a comical and disturbing view of how the writing of The Constitution could have gone if the Founding Fathers had no sense of patriotism. Patriotism is a strong sense of pride or admiration for one’s country. Patriotism is important because it gives the people of the nation a sense of pride in who they are. Not everyone supports the idea that patriotism is a positive aspect of society, they believe patriotism leads to the end of questioning society. While it is true that patriotism can lead to ignorance, it is extremely essential for the growth of the nation. The growth of America relies on the votes of the citizens patriotic enough to make their ways to the voting polls. RHEG sees the importance of this because, " We focus on our country's main problems to save time & resources, and we focus on well-studied megaprojects benefiting most citizens.” (Examples). If everyone is unpatriotic and does not care about who leads the country, it is possible that the next Adolf Hitler could be elected as president. Consequently, having a sense of patriotism calls for Americans to vote about topics they feel deeply about, such as, the state their fellow countrymen are living in. Citizens are more likely to vote for bills to better the lives of their countrymen if they are more patriotic, which makes sense because if everyone is not patriotic enough to vote then there is not possible way for any new laws or bills to be
