The Importance Of Observation In High School
“Dong, Dong, Dong” that was the final bell of 7th grade. The hallways quickly filled with students dashing outside their classrooms. “Alex! Alex, wait for me” I heard a familiar voice cry out. “There you are Stacy, I was starting to wonder if you got run over by the crowd” I frolicked. “So, what did you think of doing this summer?” Shrugging Stacy replied with a simple yet disappointing “I don’t know.” I had come up with many ideas that I was eager to share but I was willing to wait until tonight, at our sleepover. As we made our way across the busy streets of Freemont we started chatting about movies to play tonight. It was the month of June and the sun was scorching hot, I felt as if we were walking close to a volcano that was about to erupt. A blast of cold air hit me as soon as I pushed open the front door. Getting indoors was a great way to escape the heat, and the smell …show more content…
It was very cold at night so we got a few extra blankets to keep us warm. Stacy and I had some good laughs before her mom came in and hushed us. The next morning I got up and ate some breakfast. While everyone was cleaning up I noticed a passageway behind the bushes and curiously followed it. At the end of the trail, there were patches of grass, few benches, and it was surrounded by water on 3 sides. I went back up and grabbed the camera to take a few pictures. After going through some safety rules, we went out to do outdoor activities. Stacy and I took paddle boating first, it was very fun but by the end of it, my legs were sore. Later we took a break near the lake while our parents went to get some food. For dinner, we grilled up some food and went to sleep in the camper van as it was raining hard. It took a while for me to go to sleep as the branches of the nearby trees were constantly tapping the roof and windows of the

It was going to be a short ride only about 4 hours altogether through the South Dakota mountains. About an hour into our ride, we reached the mountains and as soon as we did Brody, Eli, Maddy, and I rode our horses to the top of the mountains. When we reached the top of the mountains we got off our horses and looked out over the South Dakota scenery, it was a beautiful view. I have never seen a better view in my life. You could see so far since we were up so high in the air and when we looked down at Tommy and Cassie they looked like ants. After we took a few pictures we headed back down to Tommy and Cassie. We went a little further after we got down from the mountain and then we turned back and headed towards camp. We arrived back at camp we washed, fed, and watered the horses. When we were done with that stuff we made a fire and started carving on sticks for a competition we were having and then at about 11 we went to…

We wanted to go somewhere we had not been and make it an adventure; we asked some of our friends if they would want to go with us. We decided to go to Fort Fisher and go for the weekend. Our friend Raven was able to go with us and after minimal planning we headed towards the beach. The ride down there was very eventful. We had stopped in Garner to get food, I am convinced it might be the worst town in North Carolina because while there, a man rode a golf cart into the KFC/Taco Bell parking lot, we also witnessed a man being detained by a police officer in the parking lot. When we tried to leave and get back on the Highway there was so much traffic I almost had an anxiety attack. After we had arrived in Wilmington we almost ran out of gas, because I forgot to check to see how much we had. It was a terrifying experience. (We did find a gas station and did not run out of gas though) When we finally got to Fort Fisher, it was really cold and windy there but we still had a lot of fun. We walked around the museum and saw how big the ammunition that was used was; there was a torpedo that was as big as my shin/calf and a canon ball as big as my head. We saw dioramas of the fort being built and later reacted them on the trail. We walked along the trail and halfway through realized that we went around the wrong way because all the signs were facing away from us. We sat on…

I was watching Iron man but I really was not that into I kept drifting off and thinking what I should do with my day. My older brothers Shawn and Anthony came to the door around 2 in the afternoon and asked me if I wanted to go swimming. I quickly galloped up the stairs and asked my mother if I could go, she said yeah just be safe. So we left and went to a place called the “Rez” it was a place where high school and college kids go to jump off rocks and have a good time, it was a nice area surrounded by…

Effective instruction requires teachers to be knowledgeable of the content in which they are teaching. When instruction is effective teachers are aware of different learning styles along with the various methods of teaching strategies to meet the needs of the all students. At Deerfield Beach High School we use a common board configuration in our reading department that I feel is very effective. Everyone uses the same terminology along with the same format. Collaborative planning plays a big role in our effective instruction. The learning goal and learning is clearly stated in student friendly vocabulary so that students can understand and own them. Students have a very clear understanding of what the long and short term goals are and what…

So we decided to go find somewhere to park the boat for lunch. Eventually we found this really cool cave that had plenty of room to put the boat under, and we got out the sandwich stuff. It’s kind of a tradition we have to have sandwiches when we go boating or snowmobiling. So we got out the bread, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, meat, and pickles along with the fruit salad, and Powerades. After I had finished eating I got bored and decided to go for a swim, so I cannon balled in, and the water was even warmer inside of the cave! I just laid back on my lifejacket and floated, it was so…

For my classroom observation, I chose to observe two classrooms with teachers I do not work with at my current job Bobbie Smith Elementary in Long Beach, CA. My area of interest is elementary, I chose to observe a Kindergarten and Second grade classroom. Although I prefer to teach a Kindergarten class and not go over the Second grade, I know that teachers never get a pick of what grades you teach sometimes. So I am glad that I am able to gain experience in each grade level.…

The summer following my sixth grade year was full of kick the can, capture the flag, ghost in the graveyard, and many more games played with the neighborhood kids. Some games got out of hand at times. As I tried to tag Conner to stop him from scoring in our little game of capture the ball, I seemed to forget I had a tree in the middle of my yard and I ran straight into it. Once during a competition of “America’s Got Talent” Logan mooned all of us, leaving us girls petrified. Then one hot summer night I was running the bases as we continued our game of whiffle ball while Trenton started to pee in the open onto our homemade bases made of rocks... he didn’t receive chocolate chip cookies with the rest of us that night. Out of all our eventful times the one I treasure most is when we set up our own little camp site. We found two tents and connected them both in my backyard. We slept outside, one tent for the boys and one for the girls. Eventually the boys got scared by a gunshot we heard in the distance so they joined us but were kept at a distance by my mother who kept an eye on us that night. Long games of truth or dare were…

“A simple life is good for me. I don’t need a whole lot. For me, a T-shirt, a pair of shorts, barefoot on a beach, and I’m happy, “ once stated musician, Yanni. That quote describes one of the best weeks of my life in the spring of 2016. When I was invited to travel to the beach with the Evans’ I was ecstatic. The youngest kid in their family, a 3rd grader named Jason, who has dark brown hair and freckles dotting his face, and his baseball team was leaving for a team trip. Jason’s older sisters, Halee and Hannah, are friends with me and my sister, also named Hannah, so they decided to take us along so they have more company than a bunch of third graders. We were set to leave for Gulf Shores, Alabama on Spring Break of my seventh grade year.…
