While in high school, I have maintained an A average while also playing sports year round. I have taken many honors and AP classes while in high school, because of the challenge the classes present. I believe by enrolling in the honors program I will be able to challenge myself once again to become a better individual. Also, I believe by enrolling in the honors program I will be able to gain a completive edge over others involved in the physical therapy doctorate program and finding a job in the future. I hope that this program will take my education to the next level and give me the tools to succeed later

The four pillars of National Honors Society, scholarship, service, leadership, and character, have paved a path for me as a student and as a person. Scholarship has taught me to strive to be the best student I can be. I use scholarship to keep up with my school work and never give up when a class is hard. I always strive for the best grade I can get and I will stop at nothing until I reach my goal. I will continue to use scholarship as I go to college and pursue my dream as a pediatric dentist. I will study, I will learn, and I will never give up no matter what happens along the way. I use service when I volunteered to help my local private school. I was never asked to do so, but I felt as if I was giving back to a school that had done so much…

From there, I hope to study to be accepted into medical school and specialize in pediatrics. When preparing for medical school, the advice one hears are to become a well-rounded student. Through my DECA experiences I have been able to develop leadership skills that will help me thrive in my future. Over the three years I have been involved, I have stepped out my comfort zone and made a difference in my local DECA chapter, community, and my future. Now taking the responsibility of being a DECA officer, as the chapter president, has allowed me to continue to grow and develop my leadership, communication, and social skills. Working with the Milan DECA Chapter members has proven how difficult and enjoyable being a leader is. At times leading so many events can be stressful; however, the completion of the events pushes me further. In order to reach the goal of becoming ‘well-rounded’, I used DECA skills to organize my time to join other extracurriculars within my community. Along with DECA, I participate in 4-H which is a non-profit organization in counties all across the nation that prepares youth to make a positive impact on their communities. Furthermore, I lead my 4-H club in a Relay For Life team through the American Cancer Society. Additionally, I am a dedicated musician, drum major, and the first Milan High School Flute Choir Director. I am an active participant in the peer education program at Milan High School. I am so thankful for the opportunities to be a leader within my class, school, community, county, and…

    Physical Therapy Assistant

I was a junior in high school during basketball season with no plans for college. It was the fourth game of the season with eight seconds to go in the fourth quarter, when I cut down the middle to go up for a shot and ended up on the ground from a player striking the side of my knee. After three trainers and two doctors looked at my knee I got news back that it was an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear, meaning surgery and that I was done with sports until my senior year. After surgery, I had a weekend of rest then started physical therapy. I attended physical therapy three times a week for two hours as well as doing at home exercises. I enjoyed seeing all that a therapist does and how they help people get back to where they were before. I was incredibly grateful for all they did for me getting me ready in time for summer volleyball for my senior year. I started to research all about a Physical Therapist and came across Physical Therapy Assistant, which I found more interesting mainly because it was less schooling. I had decided this is what I wanted to do and go to college for. Once senior year started, I did an internship with the facility I had gone to for therapy. I loved the environment and how the workers all communicated and got along. Getting to help people every day get their range of motion back and watching all the progress they make over the weeks was inspiring and that is what I wanted to see every day in my…

There are many reasons as to why I should be admitted into the English 2 Honors course for my sophomore year at The Philadelphia High School for girls. First, I like an academic challenge. When things are too easy or not keeping me busy enough, I tend to be more inattentive and relaxed about that class. I like when I am constantly brainstorming and working hard. Thinking and learning at a faster pace is suitable for me because English is one of my stronger subjects.…
