Everest University APA style (American Psychological Association Style) is a style of writing that is recognized for the consistency of its rules and guidelines. These rules and guidelines help to insure the author’s content and holding a person accountable for the resources used and making sure that credit is given to the originator of the information. This set of rules and guidelines was developed to assist reading comprehension in the social and behavioral sciences, for clarity of communication, and to "move the idea forward with a minimum of distraction and a maximum of precision." (Sixth Edition of the Publication Manual). As I recovered from the APA website, some aspects covered in APA are punctuation, abbreviation, construction of tables and figures, and most importantly citations of references. Early all aspects of writing are covered with this style of writing. I believe APA style writing effectively helps to keep the author honest as well as organized in their research. Citing references accurately is always significant to authors and publishers alike. Plagerism is defined in numerous terms. However you define it, it means the same thing. Such practices as, turning in someone else’s work, failing to use quotation marks, giving false information about a source, and (among other things) changing words but copying sentence structure is how Turnitin.com helps to define dishonesty. Not giving credit to the origin of your information is the same as being dishonest. And for colleges and other learning institutes, plagerism is academic dishonesty and is dealt with in a number of ways.
The repercussions for academic dishonesty can range from minor to quite severe depending on the severity of the infraction and the tolerance of the institution.

    However if that same student had a professor who strongly reinforced the importance of academic integrity, they may be less likely to cheat because there would be a much higher chance of getting caught. This will only work to a certain extent however because if there are not harsh punishments, students will not fear getting caught. One of the most effective punishments for academic dishonesty can be seen at the University of Maryland. “The standard sanction for academic dishonesty at Maryland is the "XF" grade penalty, noted on the transcript as "failure due to academic dishonesty."     The Northcentral University grading Rubric, is pretty much straight forward, cut and dry or whatever else the word is for that is it take it or leave it. I agree with it, and I am telling you this because I had to sit out for at least 180 days at Northcentral due to one of the systems at Northcentral University. “It is what it is”, is a saying here in Montgomery, Alabama for things that we simply put can’t change. If you read the assignment and give the required materials that are being asked of you, then you should be fine. I truly believe that Northcentral is here to only help us not fail us, but that’s up to us to give what is asked of us for the course. 80 – 89 is a grade of B, and 90 – 100 is a grade of A. You may be wondering why I started with B, when there are other grades lower than that. Well it is like this at Northcentral PH.D program, you must have a grade of a B or above in order to get credit for that course. APA format is the required writing format for Northcentral University. It is vital that we follow this format, for it is up to the school faculty to allow work done any other way. So it is best to learn the APA format. Late assignments will lower your grade every day up to the 7th day. After the 7th day, your assignment will not count and you will receive a 0 for a grade, unless you have an understanding with your instructor for a later turn in date.
