On December 26, 1865 the Ku Klux Klan was born because many white Southerners feared that the newly freed slaves would rise against them in revenge. Southerners also worried about their financial future because the freed slaves would take the jobs of many.
The association first originated in the South, Pulaski Tennessee, where most of the slaves were held. Since the slaves were freed, the Southerners decided to name the group, that aimed groups or individuals whom they opposed. This group’s ethnicity were mostly Americans who despised people who were not White. Their goal was to be the most superior race.
