The Homeless Girl: A Short Story
It had been a few months since the incident with the homeless guy and Jacob was back to normal, for the most part. “Hey Jacob! I need help in here.” hollered Caroline from the living room where she was wrapping presents for Christmas. “Coming!” Jacob yelled back. “Will you help me put these presents under the tree please?” Caroline asked as soon as she had been helped up. “Sure honey!” Jacob answered her. As Jacob began putting the presents Caroline had wrapped under the tree, Caroline headed to the kitchen to get something to eat. She got some cheese and crackers and when she got back to the living room she noticed that Jacob was nowhere to be seen. “Jacob!” Caroline hollered through the house. There was no answer.
