Meanwhile, there are no doubts that certain drugs can enhance an athlete’s performance, but this can lead to injury and other harmful effects. High school athletes are sometimes considered, “dumb jocks”, which leads to the question if student athletes should maintain a certain grade-point average. Some players think…

Sports keep teens well behaved at school and in class. Sports reduce the number of fights, and bad classroom behavior. In order to play any sport in high school, the students must make good grades. If they fail to make the grades, then they are either dismissed from the team, or they must take a study hall before each practice for at least 30 minutes, sometimes even for the whole day until his or her grade comes up to a passing grade. In most high schools, there are problems with attendance from the students. If a player does not come to school, then they may not go to practice or attend the game that…

Sports are more popular for teens nowadays but they are the top reason teens are getting injured these days. Rules used to be very minimal when sports were first created, but as of today each sport has its own specific set of rules to follow by. At every sporting event it is mandatory to have some type of medical team or medical kit with you at all times. Concussions are the biggest concern when it comes to injuries. Especially playing football, or boxing or other head to head sports. In each sport they make rules to try and prevent the cause of concussions. The rules in each sport nowadays are so advanced that they try so hard to push the importance of how bad a concussion can be toward an athlete. A concussion could ruin a player’s season, or even career. This doesn’t just happen to teen athletes. This could occur to those playing in the NHL (National Hockey League), the NFL (National Football League) and even boxing along with many other sports.…

One reason high school sports aren’t beneficial is because they create a lot of pressure. According to the video “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” by KCRA, sports are sometimes the only way students can get into a good college and be able afford it. This puts a lot of pressure on the athletes to perform at their best 100% of the time. Experts say that your child's entire team will suffer if the parents are pressuring their kids (KCRA.com, “Do Athletes Face Unnecessary Parent Pressure?” ). This fact is important because it proves, when parents put pressure on their children it does not benefit them, in fact it is actually setting them up for life in an unhealthy way. This shows that the pressure from sports is not good and not worth it.…

However, many claim the pros outweigh the cons, meaning that people shouldn’t be so concerned about what “could” happen. Not only do sports keep the students healthy and active, they bring a social aspect that can’t be found anywhere else, and the odds of being injured aren’t high and can happen to anyone.…

Activities and sports in schools is a great way for students to be involved, and to be active. I have done research and there hasn’t been one article I found on why sports shouldn’t be in schools. Having athletic programs and activities in schools are very helpful for students health, it develops team work, helps develop discipline and also perfection. Sports teach children many important lessons about team work and friendship. When the school took away all sports many of the students felt that they did get the full high school experience by being denied a chance to play a sport at the high school level. A few children even started attending a school ten miles away so that they could participate in sports. There were many parents that were unhappy with the school because they felt their children were being denied the “Rite of Passage” of playing on a high school team.…
