The assessment I have chosen for this quarter is creating a movie poster. The characters in The Great Gatsby will be used as comparisons to the celebrities. The main character in this novel is Gatsby. Gatsby is a 30 year old good looking man who easily attracts the ladies. Also, he happens to be extremely wealthy. Jay strives to achieve whatever goal he sets himself. In this novel, his goal is to make a fortune so he could live happily with the love of his love. Gatsby is a very open-minded, outgoing character. He seems to be trustworthy, but he knows a lot of people so it may be smart not to open up to him. In the novel, Daisy is in her twenties. She has short blonde hair, and demands a lot of attention and respect from those around her. In this sense, the best celebrity who represents Daisy would be singer Taylor Swift. Both Daisy and Taylor have a look of innocence at first. Once you dig deep and find out who they really are, one can realize that they are just the opposite. Swift seems to have feuds with 21 stars and counting! If I had to choose one person from this novel who craves the center of attention, I would choose Tom Buchanan. Tom Buchanan is just like Cristiano Ronaldo. Both of these people are good looking men who love nothing other than receiving attention. They are roughly 32 years of age. Tom and Cristiano catch the eyes of every girl when they pass by. Adele & Myrtle Wilson could pass as twins, if not sisters if they were born in the same time period. Both Adele and Myrtle have fair skin with orange/ redish hair. The most obvious thing between the two that I picked up on is the look of innocence one sees when they first glance at them.
