The Giver Ending Analysis
The Giver seems to end unclear. Many people have different opinions and ideas on what happened to Jonas and Gabriel when they left the community. However, there is an end. Jonas followed the echoing, and that was when he suddenly saw it: the Elsewhere he had been looking for. Suddenly, all the memories began flooding into his mind, good and bad, all from the Giver. He felt that this was where he and Gabriel were summoned to. He didn’t know why, but it seemed right. He felt like this small community was where he had been living in for his twelve years of his life. Because it was dark out and snowing heavily, it was hard to see, for no lights were lighten. However, he could see a figure, a female no doubt, that called his name on the other side of the town. He didn’t feel perplexed or scared, just a feeling of understanding. He held Gabe tight, and broke into a run towards the female. It was hard to run through the snow, but when he finally got to the female, he remembered who she was. “You are Rosemary,” he said

Jonas was confused. “ For my escape? Why?” He suddenly realized all the good memories of a lively community were all an illusion that Rosemary had made, to lead him in. She sighed and said, “Jonas, my father, the Giver, wanted you to find a new town for yourself after you understood what release was. That is where you thought you were going. But I have brought you here to work with me, to save him, your family and the whole community .” Jonas was still confused. “From the ways of the community! They know nothing!” “ That is what the Giver said,” Jonas said smiling at the thought of the Giver. Rosemary put her hands onto his shoulders. She somehow felt like the Giver, only with colder, softer hands. “Listen to me Jonas, they must learn about the memories, and they must feel them! They no nothing about release or what the Elders are doing to them! They don’t have a free
