The Giver Alternate Ending
The sled continued down the hill, faster and faster, as the sled gathered speed as it went. Jonas clutched Gabriel close to himself, and forced his own eyes open. They were approaching a small house, and before Jonas had time to steer, they slammed into it. He tumbled off with Gabriel still in his arms. The snow was cold, but still so very soft. They saw colorful lanterns above them. Jonas moaned, and whispered to Gabriel “We made it“. Jonas tried to stand, but fell again, into the snow. When he hit the ground, he must have struck a rock, because his knee was throbbing, and the snow beside him had a reddish tinge. The last thing Jonas remembered was a light, two concerned faces, and something wet on his cheek. Jonas awoke to a dim light, and a warm bed. He fluttered his eyes open, and found everything a little blurry. His knee hurt, but the pain was not unbearable. Have I died and gone to elsewhere? Jonas thought. But he heard voices--talking about him.

Then, there was a big projection, from all the houses. Each house had its own projector, and all together, made a big projection. On the projection, was the last president of the world, before the community went to sameness, said “You have found now found uniqueness Giver . The world, from now on, depends on you, Giver. You must make the decisions that the new world makes, and you are the leader of all the people on the world, and you must make it perfect, in your own
