The Fever Code: The Maze Runner
The Fever Code is the second prequel to The Maze Runner series. The book is set in a time before The Maze Runner and after The Kill Order. Thomas’s real name is Stephen, who is renamed as Thomas by WICKED. A sickness came after the Soler Flares and the fever called the flare. The Flare spread across the globe. Half the population Dead the other half is chaos. Families died. This is a story of Thomas before the maze. Thomas and Teresa are mentally and physically tested. These are Thomas’s friends: Teresa, Chuck, Minho, Alby and Newt and They have secret meetings. Thomas finds out what the Flare does to people. Thomas saw WICKED unleash a Griever on Minho for trying to escape. He tried to escape because he hates the fact that they were treated like lab mice. Thomas, Teresa and the two other top kids Aris and Rachel, killed seventeen people in WICKED because they had the Flare. When Thomas is only five years old when he was taken under the care of WICKED. There are two maze groups A and b. Group A is the Gladers and group B is the girls in an ice maze. The "beetle blades” are cameras that wicked you’d to spy on the mazes. Dr. Ava Paige is Thomas’s tester, blood tester and testing his immunized. …show more content…
The book focuses on the training that Thomas and the Gladers go before sent to the Maze. Thomas knows that Ben got stung by a griever. (grievers can sting it is in book one) Thomas and Teresa made chuck go last to go in the maze because he becomes the little brother to them. The book primarily focuses on the training that Thomas and the others undergo before being sent into the Maze, however also explores the relationships between the Gladers before they underwent the “Swipe.” The “swipe is a brain transplant by wicked to wipe the memory but it can come out and they get their memories

    The book starts off when Thomas arrives to the Glade in the Box. When Thomas gets out of the Box he can’t remember anything, he can’t remember his family, friends, age, or even his last name. Alby ,which is the leaders of the Gladers, shows him around the Glade and answers few of Thomas' many questions. Him and Chuck, Glader that be friends Thomas, talk for awhile before going to sleep. The next day Alby and Minho (runner) go into the maze to find a dead Griever, only to find out that it was not dead. The Griever that they believed to be dead was very much alive and attacked Alby. Minho then has to drag Alby to the Doors to get the cure. They don’t make it to the Doors in time and Thomas steps into the maze just in time to get trapped inside with Alby and Minho. They stay in the maze overnight and run from Grievers. When they return in the morning. They have a gathering to discuss what happened and how they should punish Thomas for disobeying the rules.     In this book, the main character had to go through a lot of internal and external conflicts throughout the book. Some of the internal conflicts the main character, Alex, had to face include keeping his mental strength that allowed him and his two sisters to stay alive.     The two main characters in The Stotan are Walker and Jeff. Walker is the main character in this book; he narrates the book by writing in his journal. Walker is the captain of the swimming team in his high school. He has many issues in his life for example his brother being a drug addicted and his parents being old for the age that they had him. He does his best not to let any of it get to him and always does his best to encourage his team mates during the season. Jeff is the oldest out of all of the friends and team mates. He is also to be considered the most mature in the entire group. He has a reputation of being considered a “tough guy” and was diagnosed with a blood disease and is becoming much weaker every day and is expected to die. In the beginning of the book the coach of the Robert frost high school swim team ask for some volunteers for stotan week. Four of the boys on the swim team decide to sign up. When the boys signed up they did not realize that their entire winter break would be spent doing 4 hour work outs during stotan week. During stotan week the four boys began to get to know each other pretty well and eventually started sharing things about their personal lives. The theme of this book is that you only know someone’s name and not their story of their life and what they have been threw and to not judge others without getting to know them. This book affected my view on everyday activities because I truly don’t know people but I still judge them witch I should not but instead get to know the person.…

    The theme of this novel is that no matter what happens in your life there is always hope. Throughout the story Beah faced many hardships. I think the biggest hardship he faced was the fact that he was separated from his family. His family was lost out in Sierra Leone and could have even been killed by the rebels. I have no idea what I would do if a civil war broke out in the United States and all of these different militias terrorized different towns killing innocent people for no reason.
