Historical Evidence
Source of Evidence
I believe that Jesus existed; the bases of evidence for Jesus include the four Gospels in the Bible (found in the New Testament), the apocryphal gospels (not included in the Bible), Paul’s letters in the Bible, written sources (after the life of Jesus), circumstantial evidence, and archaeological evidence (McIntyre, 2010). From the above sources, the most ignored source is the circumstantial evidence. Christianity has been around for many eons. Arguably, Christianity has more supporters compared to other religions. Nonetheless, when we rewind our memories there was a period that Christianity did not exist. This raises the question why we have Christians like the complete, loner, bound, and dead Christians. The balanced cause and effect explains to us that sometimes back that something took place that changed the individuals who were not Christians to be converted to Christianity.
This sounds obvious but for all the Christians, agnostics, atheists, and other faiths this is a challenge. The cause and effect makes it clear that Christianity begun as a historical event. Consequently, the start of Christianity should be premeditated like other historical events. The point is

Habermas starts out this book by bring to light five historical facts that will accomplish his goal to provide provoking proof for the historicity of Jesus’ resurrection. First, he states the fact that Jesus died on the cross by crucifixion; secondly, that the disciples believed that Jesus had risen from the dead and had appeared before them as a bodily figure; thirdly, that Paul, as a former persecutor of Christians, was converted when he bet Jesus Christ; fourthly, that James was also converted in the same way that Paul was; and lastly, that the tomb was empty (although there were some theologians who have challenged this last point as an historical fact, therefore, not considered to be necessarily widely accepted as the other four points). With these five facts, Habermas includes a wealth of scholarly research to back up his main thesis and argument.…

Could Christianity have made it into the 2nd century without Jesus having actually been raised from the dead? Of course it could. All it takes is for someone to believe that it happened. As Richard Carrier points out, Rome could not have continued as it did without Caesar crossing the Rubicon, bringing his armies into Italy. For proof that he did, we have his own hand writing in his book The Civil War. We have hostile witnesses – Cicero. We have coins that were minted. We have contemporary historians talking about it. However, all that is required for Christianity to continue is the propagation of a story. Whether the resurrection happened or not does not keep it from propagating. You just have to get people to believe. Christianity fails the sixth criteria for historical proof of the…

48 The Jews answered him, "Aren 't we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?" 49 "I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50 I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51 I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." 52 At this the Jews exclaimed, "Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that if anyone keeps your word, he will never taste death. 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?" 54 Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and keep his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad." 57 "You are not yet fifty years old," the Jews said to him, "and you have seen Abraham!" 58 "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I Am!"…

The history of Christianity goes back into Jewish ancestry and revolves around the 300 prophecies in the Old Testament, which reveals the upcoming of a Jewish Messiah who would be a Savior of humanity. Around 2000 years ago this prophecy was fulfilled by the birth of Jesus from the Virgin Mary in the town of Bethlehem in the land of Israel. He brought a hope of delight to the poor and rejected ones. The New Testament book of Luke (1:26-38) and Matthew (1:18-25) explains the virgin birth of Jesus. The birth of Jesus Christ also claimed a revolution and the revival of the teachings of Judaism. In the beginning Christianity was considered as a sect of Judaism. As Jesus said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." (Matthew 5:17). But later on, the teachings of Jesus established the foundation of Christianity. The concept of salvation and eternal peace blessed the gloomy hearts.…

Christianity is an ancient religion that is centered on the teachings of Christ. The history of Christianity concerns the Christian religion, its followers and the Church with its various denominations, from the first century to the present. Christianity was founded in the 1st century in the Levant region of the Middle East by Jesus of Nazareth, who is prophesied in the Old Testament to be the Christ or chosen one of God. This religion has been around since 4BC-30AD (the time of Christ). The early Christians believed that there were seven heavens, one physically above the other. Like the latter, Christianity was originally a movement of oppressed people it first appeared as the religion of slaves and emancipated slaves of poor people deprived of all rights of peoples subjugated or dispersed by Rome. Sometimes when we learn about the past, like Ancient Rome, we have to use judgement because there are no eyewitnesses now. We have to take it on faith because some people can distort facts. For example, we understand it to be true that Constantine saw Jesus on the burning cross. A fact, however, is that Christianity survived the Roman Empire. We know that Theodosis makes Christianity the official religion in the Roman Empire.…

Of course, McGrath acknowledges that Christianity is not merely propositional and rational in nature. It is also not less than that. Biblical Christianity is about both theological truth and personal involvement. He distinguishes between faith and belief, both aspects make up the Christian walk. However, when wrong beliefs and theological concepts are entertained and promoted, that has a very real and detrimental impact on faith. It is when these core beliefs are undermined that heresy arises. As an historical theologian, McGrath explains the story of how the early church grappled with its new-found faith, and how it sought to both understand it and to protect it from error. He rightly notes that there was from the earliest times a recognizable…

First though, biblical explanation of Jesus' humanity is essential.…
