The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a Federal food aid plan that relieves the homeless and low-income homes from the economic stress of grocery expenses by improving the availability of food to these societal classes at no cost.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) invests in USDA products through this approach by packaging, handling and providing it to each state’s administering organization. Each state is able to acquire a fixed portion of food based on the recorded statistics of jobless and underemployed individuals collected within the state community.     Having more revenue means more accessibility to organic fresh produce, the demands in quality food goes up because it is at the reach of families that can afford it.
