The East of Eden: 'Timshel'
Our choices come from out own opinions, but our opinons come from our parents, guardians and other people in society or just straight from within ourselves. When we area young are parents, guardains tell us and teach us what is wright and wrong. So when it is time for us to make a choice we remember what are parents had told us, and feel we must think the same as them so are choice refects upons them. But as we became older we choose what are own opinions will be, sometimes they are the same as out parents had told us, and have our own entirley differnent opinions and choices. Our opinions come from society or something we believe inside ourselves that never came out until then. Cal, felt since his mother was bad he must be bad. But Cal was not bad he ws good he jsut didnt know it. Abra had to bring out the good in Cal, and made him realize he didnt have to be like Cathy. In my family me and my parents have diffrent opinions on everything we don't agree much Our choices show what we really think and believe in.

Choices are given to us everyday they may be big or small, but everyone always seems to take the easy road out, to not challenge themselves. With every choice that is madesomething hapens, or soemthing is need to be done. If a choice is made people seem to choose the easy was they dont want to work, or challenge themselves.People are ::::lazy:::, if they can do one easy thing to gain alot they will do it. But if they have to work to gain alot more, they will settle for less. If you are a lazy person you will take the easy way, but if you aren't you will try and challenge yourself you will go the extra mile. Cathy choosed to seduce, and multipualte men she used them for money, Cathy took the esy road. But Samuel, he worked even though he had the dryest, worst land in the valley, despite that he still took it and used what he could of his land. In my personal experience when it comes to working on soemthing i do the minimual amount that is required, but if it is something important i will work hard to and go beyond and challeng myself. Choices are very hard, because you area ble to pick what you want and soemtimes you don't pick what you really want, you'll pick the safest wasy to stay ffrom challenging yourself.

When a choice is made its what you truly want, and you will stand for it. With 'Thou Mayest' it gives you a choice to choose what you a choice to what you desire. Choice gives you a oportunity to let out you opinons and say what you want. But when you desire soemthing with your choice you will, 'fight it through and win.' Also through 'Thou Mayest' it guides you in life through out your choices to help you fight with them and make every choice u make seem like the 'great choice' this would also mean it's the right choice so no matter what you chose you will be guided to wim, through you choices. I still believe that theri can be bad choices, but as time goes on they are fixed with the good choices ahead. When your choice is made it can be good or bad but when you fight for you choice it keeps you going on you path in life. With "Thou mayest" chices are given to us much easier we are able to choce what we really want. Choices are made up of are opinons and thoughts. Every choice has a significance whether its big or small. The easy choice is usally the one choosen, but people chould take the path less followed. When a choice is made you will fight for it to win, through it. TIMSBEL gives us are opionons and free choice to choose what we desire.

There are two parts to the internal side, the judgement of the “best”, and the judgement of the conscience. The real reason from judgement of the best is what seems most attractive. Then the judgement of the conscience, which is what is right and what is wrong. The best scenario of how you described it was ‘Should I stay in bed today all wrapped up in my blankets, or go to work where I will get paid?’. Even though this is a simple question to answer, we all know it’s not the staying in bed option. You are always split between two choices, you know that choosing the right decision is always the best. Although there are a few moments when the “best” choice, is actually the correct one. If you really think about your choices you can see it is a constant battle between the one that looks the best and the one that is the best. It has usually become second nature to us, we do think about what seems the best, but really most of us will choose what truly the best decision…

Through his narrator in East of Eden, John Steinbeck says that there is only "one story in the world", that of good and evil (Steinbeck 412). The original story of good and evil can be traced back to the biblical tale of Cain and Abel, from which Steinbeck picked his title and formed many central characters around. In his novel East of Eden, John Steinbeck explores the constant collision between good and evil and forms a parallel between his story and that of Cain and Abel.…

Free will determines what someone really wants without consequence rather then what they are forced to do. Truth is anything that can be proven, it is “the reality of the matter, as distinguished from what people wish so, believe to be so, or assert to be so” (Ruggiero, 2009). Truth is not opinion but rather facts that are waiting to be discovered. Facts may change, but the truth will always be just that, the truth. Knowledge is taught and is always evolving. Knowledge is what we are familiar with; “we can obtain authentic knowledge in any one of three ways: personal experience, observation, and report from others” (Ruggiero,2009) .Knowledge helps with understanding the topic in question and drawing educated conclusions when all the facts are not present. Opinions are subjective and “are intensely personal” (Ruggiero 2009). Opinions can be of taste or judgment but either way does not require explanation or…

Parents, family members and friends influence our thoughts and beliefs for better. As we develop our values and ethics it is through past experiences whether it is positive or negative experiences that help mold us as adults. I developed ethics and values when I was young. I was taught to know right from wrong at a young age. I was punished if I lied or did something wrong and both parents has high standards and morals that they wanted me to abide by. They taught me that cheating, stealing and lying would not be tolerated. I would be held responsible if I did any of these unethical behaviors. They taught me to be truthful, humble, and treat others how you wanted to be…

I am limited by many of the same things as other people: money, position, and geography. When motivated, I solve these problems, such as last year when I worked at Dunkin Donuts for several months to accrue some emergency money for college and some spending money so I could get Chick-Fil-A everyday. Because I got an immediate reward I kept working, but I don’t always have that immediate reward.…

Anthony Robbins once said “It’s in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” People make so many quick decisions unconsciously, whereas other decisions are lamented over. Society makes choices and creates opinions through deep mental thought which is influenced by preference, logic, feelings, and reflection. Some people may even question whether free will is a believable concept. Others believe it is all within our own power to make decisions that will lead to greater happiness. Little decisions lead to big consequences because when small and simple decisions are made, big decisions are to come, choices indicate character, and every decision made impacts other decisions.…

How do we tell wrong from right and right from wrong? When we make a choice is it based on our beliefs or what we value in life? As we move on with life, we never really think about all the choices we have made in our lifetime and sometimes we take those for granted. Making a decision can be compared to an example like having to pick which road we want to take. Left or right? We do not know where either will take us but when we make the decision and go through with the experience, we will realize if that was a generally good choice or not. Comparing life is as simple as having to pick what direction to go.…

People decide to do everything, they choose which path to take, and choose the consequences or rewards associated with their decisions. Surprisingly many do not know “when you have a decision to make, the standard advice is to think everything through and weigh the pros and cons and reason your way to the right choice.” Many people just react without thinking, it is human nature to follow the impulses felt, but no one ever stops to think what bad things may occur from their idiotic choices. Especially in today’s society, every single decision made can lead to a person’s destruction or even death, the free will humans posses is something of use for good but many abuse it and end up hurting their fate more than helping…

So many people have ideas of things they want to do, whether they be business-related, something that scares them or even just asking someone else out on a date. Everyone has ideas about how they want to live their lives, but most people never wind up following through. They are so afraid of failure or of looking bad that they run from any kind of challenge. Then later in life, when they realize that they had all these opportunities and never took advantage of them, they regret it so much. A lot of people choose the easy way out in order to avoid challenges and barely ever choose to take the road less traveled just to see where it could take them. That is a risk that few people take because they never want the responsibility of having to work for something. Life can only be lived by those who work hard for their achievements and follow through on their ideas and goals. It is the people who never work for anything that are unhappy…
