The Dark Side Do good and evil really exist? Are they just concepts or reality? We all have our own opinions. I consider good and evil to just be concepts. What constitutes as good or evil? What is suffering, and what causes it? What does the Bible have to say about it, and how do we know God only wants us to be happy? I’ll be talking about all of these items in this essay. Where do ‘evil’ and ‘goodness’ come from? Everything comes from God. Whether it is what you consider bad or good. God obviously does everything for a reason. Even the most horrendous of events has a purpose. God does not necessarily cause suffering, but he does allow it. Many people say suffering comes from the devil, but that’s only temptation. We decide whether or not we follow those temptations. Everything happens for a reason. So, back to the question if evil and goodness really exist. I believe that good and evil exist as concepts created by man. The reality of suffering is pretty simple. Things happen that we don’t like. Things that we believe aren’t the best things at the time they happen. Human suffering may be one of the greatest trial that tests our faith in God. The mystery is, why would God allow it? He allows it so we grow from that experience. I believe the concepts of good and evil are a feigned dichotomy. That there is an atrocious artificiality of behind assigning such superficial titles to things. Temptation is from the Devil, right? And suffering comes from temptation. Not all suffering is caused by the misuse of free will, but much is. We are given the chance to plan our own lives. Whether you steal that item you really want, or you work for it. Most likely, you’ll get caught stealing that item, or you will be extremely filled with guilt. In either case, you will suffer. In this case, you misused the gift of free will that God gave us. “Redemptive suffering is the Roman Catholic belief that human suffering, when accepted and offered up in union with the Passion of
