Summary:

Mesopotamia is located at the delta of two rivers known as the Tigris and Euphrates that is why it is also called the "Land Between Two Rivers". Mesopotamians introduced to the world numerous tools that we use in our daily life. Some of them were the wheels, sixty-minute hour, 360 degree circle and the codes of law. It discusses the origin of Iraq and how did civilization started. On the first part of the article, I felt that it did not quite interest me much because I was expecting more of it. I thought it was quite boring. I thought that the first part lacks details compared to the other books I have read. The first part was boring but after pages I have turned I have started to get interested on it. The details became deeper and now it is more fun to discover the foundations of Iraq. Some of my favorite parts of the article were first when it discussed about the royalty of ancient Mesopotamian queens. I was overwhelmed how extravagant those queens were and how rich they were. Those precious stones and treasure were magnificent and beautiful and I can't imagine what would be its worth today but I think those are priceless. The second part I likes was the timeline of Mesopotamia together with map. This part explains deeply the progress of Mesopotamia together with the map. What I liked about it is that it was more simplified and organized that's why I was interested on it. Together with the map, it was a good summary. But the most exciting and interesting part for me is that when they illustrate pictures. This for me is the best part of the experience because personally I think that telling the story of Iraq in words only is not enough. I thought that putting pictures is the icing in the cake. I liked the picture on the queens body with the ornaments around her. It shows how rich the culture of Mesopotamia is. I also liked the bronze mask of King Sargon because it was so artistic of

My overall opinion of this article is that I really enjoyed reading it, it was well written and knowledgeable, and it was organized well and absolutely engaging. I would have like for her to include other people stories that had went through the same thing she went through, that way it want seemed to be just a one person perspective. I would also been great if she could have interviewed a border patrol person just to see what they had to say about it, but for the most part overall I enjoyed reading…

Lying beneath the ruins in the heart of modern Iraq are some of the most ancient civilizations known to man. The Sumerian, the Acadian and the Babylonians even pre-date the Egyptians. Some researchers are of the opinion that they were the precursors of Egyptians, and modern research seems to suggest this as а fact. We see similarities in both civilizations in the traditions they followed in terms of art and architecture. The great power of those in power is expressed well in each instance and in comparable ways.…

Overall, most of the piece is awkwardly written and hard to follow. I’m not sure if this was done intentionally. The author technique of switching back and forth between Standard English as he expressed himself through intellectual thoughts and words to what seemed like forced “ebonics”. In my opinion, the article did not flow smoothly at all. I found myself having to…

This video series was very interesting to watch because I really had no real knowledge of this culture or what they were about. It is so hard to believe that one person who wanted so much power would have been the catalyst so many years later to have a people destroy themselves. One of the key points I felt this video shared would be that of hidden history. This group of people has so much history, a 2000 year old history chock full of so many details. Researchers have unearthed artifacts and walls with hieroglyphics to spell out some of the events. It goes from rituals the culture had to who ruled them and where they moved from or to. Each drawing becomes another piece to the puzzle.…

I was charmed about this because it had all the details about the evolution and life style of this wonderful and fascinating culture and civilization. I’m personally very interested in studying the Egyptian civilization and knowing all the aspect of this culture and this exhibition gathered all the necessary information that I needed and I asked to have. I did find this article a little hard to follow. The author seemed to have jumped around a lot, which made it difficult to keep focused. There seemed to be an unbiased point of view from the author. In the article the facts were laid out and no opinions were given. The facts laid out were from an anthropologist point of view, which makes the article relevant to the class. I may have enjoyed the article a little more had it not been for being hard to follow. However, the article did spike my interest in suicide bombing. It was one of those things that I did not think about because it has not directly affected me. Most people do not think about a subject unless it directly affects them, which is why the population seems uneducated and arrogant. Maybe if more people took time to learn more about suicide bombing and other forms of terrorism, there would be less of a threat to our country. The article was not exactly what I thought it would be. I thought the article was going to be purely about suicide bombing, but it went into detail to show how this type of self-destruction is different from other forms of…
