The Car Accident

July 22, 2011

It was one of the most terrifying days of my life, the day of my car accident. Disappointment, disbelief, and fear filled my mind as I was lying on my side. I was sandwiched between the cold dirt and the hot metal of the car. The weight of the car was pressed down on the lower half of my body with monster force. It did not hurt, my body was numb. All I could feel was the hood of the car stamping my body farther and farther into the ground. My lungs felt pinched and air would neither enter nor escape them. My mind was buzzing. Where is my brother? What is my father going to think? In the distance, on that cursed road, I saw cars driving by completely unaware of what had happened, or how I felt. I tried to yell but my voice was unheard. I was waiting, waiting for someone to help me, or waiting to die.

The third maddening buzz of my alarm woke me as I groggily slid out of bed and into the shower. It was the start of another routine morning, or so I thought. I took a shower, quarreled with my brother over which clothes he should wear for that day, and finished getting myself ready. All of this took a little longer than usual, which was not a surprise, so we were running late. We hopped into the interior of my sleek, white BMW and made our way to school.

With music blasting, and voices singing, it was another typical ride to school with my brother. Because of our belated departure, I went fast, too fast. We started down the first road to our destination. This road is about three miles long and it consists of tight curves and blind hills. My father had warned me to never take this road to school, but I chose to take the road to save time and avoid another tardy from school. As we broke the top of one of the blind hills, there was a dead deer in the middle of the right lane. Without any thought, and purely by instinct, I pulled the wheel of the car to

The first thing I saw was the smoke running through my eyes and a masked man taking me away from the flaming fire. Unable to move, and blood crashing down from my nose, I felt my body shivering in the cold with a bright light shining down my face. Feeling helplessly lost, I wonder if it was all just a dream, and that maybe I’ll wake up from it soon. “Where was I?” I thought.…

The cracked shards crunched beneath my feet, the blood dripped from my hair onto my awestruck face. This is all seemed so real, so completely real. I walked around the cars, examining the wreckage, my sight vibrating from the pure adrenaline rush. Here it was, Every 15 Minutes, and I was the drunk driver. Beer cans scattered around the pavement; every step I took felt like an eternity, a lurch through some kind of dark matter. I kept thinking “this didn’t actually happen, this didn’t actually happen,” but, the experience was all too real. I had killed someone. Metaphorically, of course, she’s fine. I took a seat in my car, and mixed the soon-to-be puke, a concoction of granola bar and water in my mouth.…

The alarm clock went “ding….ding… ding.” I woke pretending I couldn’t hear it, because I didn’t want to get up. My mom was yelling at my sister and me, “Get up girls it’s time to go school.” I didn’t understand why she was so excited. I miserably dragged myself out of bed; I just wanted to crawl and hide and the blanket. It was a cold day in March 1999, I was fourteen years old, and it was my first day of school in America.…

I was just going to go to the end of the dirt road, about a mile, and go home. The sun was in my eyes and it just so happened that someone was driving those roads that day. He said he barely seen me because of the sun. He had almost hit my horse and I could have easily broken his windshield. He did not see Reese and his tire went over the top of her. She let out a single yelp and then she was gone. I knew I could not lift the eighty-pound dog on to my horse. So I took off for home to tell grandpa that Reese had been hit by a car. I was so upset that it started to upset my horse. By the time I had the horse tied up the guy had come to apologize for what had…

I was tired and my face was numb; I forgot my face mask at my uncle’s house. I wasn’t in any rush to get home but the wood stove and my comfortable bed was a pleasing thought. The headlight on my snowmobile was only shining about ten feet in the distance when a giant moose stepped out in front of me. I immediately pulled my breaks, but it was too late to avoid contact. I was looking up at the towering moose; ready to fly forward all I could think about is how to survive this situation. My body became calm and everything went quiet. Then all of a sudden the big hooves came crashing down just…

We were stuck at the top of the roller coaster with a couple of carts going over the edge, terrifying. Plus, the 0 miles per hour to the what felt like 2,000 mile per hour takeoff with no warning almost made me wet myself! As, we were going around the first turn my ribs were rattling like drums. My heart was pounding through my chest like a wrecking ball. Going up the first hill I slammed my eyes shut hard. Up and down the hill with ease I opened my eyes not scared, not afraid. When we finally got off the ride, my brother Drake started chanting “We’re not dead, we’re not dead!” My mom startled him by replying “Shut up, we weren’t gonna die!” “Yay, we almost did.” As I saw the next carts soar up I wished they would get stuck but, they didn’t. As, the day went on I did ride other roller coasters. There was one ride I did skip, The Superman, I didn’t want to get stuck on that one.…

The blaring ring of the alarm clock runs through my ears, marking the end of my pleasant six-hour sleep. I’m looking at the time and fumbling my hand next to me, managing to hit the snooze button and relapse back to my sleep. Repeating this several times, I eventually decided to get up, and turned off the alarm. I grabbed the towel lying on top of my chair, and turn around only to sneak a glance at the time. I stumble through the bathroom, flick the light switch brace myself for the glare of the lights as I struggle to open my eyes. After taking a nice, hot shower, I quickly got dressed and made my way to the kitchen. After my breakfast, I woke up my mom and told her to drop me off. She got up, and drove me to school.…

As the car got a bit near, it seemed to be an injured man. As fast as a jaguar, the car had lost its control. Mom couldn’t apply brakes. It looked as if an accident is going to take place. The car stopped making a dreadful noise. We looked back there was no one. Mom got off the car. Looked around. What was it? Was it a zombie? Or really a man? We were truly scared. My heart was beating like anything. We reached home-safe and sound. What happened that night nobody knows. We didn’t share this incident with anyone. It was forgotten and considered only a rainy…

I was sitting in a restaurant along with my parents. The restaurant was on the first floor and we could see the busy Western Express Highway from the window. I was watching the cars, buses, and trucks speeding by. Just then I saw a bus trying to overtake another bus, but the gap was a bit narrow. The bus driver lost control and his bus hit the divider. It ran on the divider for a few seconds and then to my horror, it overturned. “Oh God,” I shouted. The overturned bus skidded and stopped in the middle of the road. My father too was watching the incident as it happened. He immediately called the Police and Ambulance from his cell phone. Meanwhile a huge rush had gathered near the overturned bus. Luckily there were only a few passengers in the bus who started coming out of the bus from the emergency window one by one. They were all hurt and some of them were bleeding. The public helped them come out of the bus and made them sit on one side.…
