The Business Proposal of the General Agency of Korean Morning Glory in Mainland China

Preface: At first, we want to let you know that our proposal isn’t based on a new corporation. It was finished on selling products from an overseas company called Morning Glory, which is a very famous company, specialized in stationary, in South Korea. You may not know about the company, but if I mention the Blue Bear, the primary character of Morning Glory, I am sure there must come up some ideas on your mind. One of our group members likes the Blue Bear very much, and she wants to operate a franchised store of Morning Glory. So we decided to help her start working on her ambition by dint of working out the report. Thus we got an assumption of being the Chinese General Agency of Korean Morning Glory. As it is known to all, being an agency, we have a total different business mission and strategies analysis from other ownerships, and here they are.

Business Mission
1. For Morning Glory: Providing our customers with quality service and reliable goods is our basic philosophy. Morning Glory refers to the glory of morning - an essence we hope to capture in each product. Our goal is to become a worldwide brand known for these qualities.
2. For our agent: Protecting the copyright of Morning Glory (named “MG” as follow) in China and inherit their mission to provide customers with quality service and reliable goods.

Strategies Analysis
S. W. O. T. Analysis
Organization Strengths (S)
1. Advantaged Site: We choose one of the biggest markets in Mainland China ---- Shanghai, as the General Agency of Korean Morning Glory.
2. Advantaged Economic Environment: Though the economy in America has been in troubles, Chinese Government has a good macro-economic control to protect our domestic industry. So, the economy in China is still

China’s influence in the world economy was minimal until the late 1980’s but we are now seeing China being one of the most independent countries and leading the manufacturing producing market. China started with a fragile economy with minimal infrastructure from frequent revolutions and invasions in 1949. In the early 1980’s, China’s economy was still extremely weak as a result of its inward looking government system of a socialist planned economy under the Mao government. This resulted in living standards below world averages and economic growth at nearly zero. China has risen from the edge of economic obscurity to lead the world in terms of economic growth, and this is done is just over a quarter of a decade. The People’s Republic of China has transformed from a planned economy into a socialist market economy and is now the world’s second largest economy to the USA being number one, by nominal GDP at $7.3 trillion and by purchasing power parity (PPP). “Pay attention to what’s going on in China. “ – Jeff Mbanga – The Observer.…

A single trip to Wal-Mart can show the power of China 's economy. The tags on most of the retail items in the store have the familiar "Made in China" stamp. By simply watching the news over the past decade, Americans know that the reason the U.S. imports so much of its merchandise from China is because Chinese companies can pay their workers far less to manufacture goods than American companies can.…

From our company’s mission statement: Deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences by building an organization where people are inspired to better their lives. With this statement, I believe that South Korea would be the next logical place to expand into. The Korean people have Confucius, Buddhist, and Catholic beliefs and with those beliefs, our mission statement fits perfectly with their lives. Having been a resident of South Korea for over five years, I have observed the Korean people’s great fascination with western culture and food. At the malls as well as along the shopping districts, western style stores are very popular and always busy. While there are a great variety of both local as well as American fast food restaurants such as McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, I have not seen one Chinese fast food restaurant. They do have Chinese food restaurants here but the style and taste of the food are much different than what is served at Panda Express or some of our competitors such as Manchu Wok. As an American living and working in South Korea, if I want American style Chinese fast food, the only place I can get it is at a Manchu Wok at the Yongsan Army Garrison in Seoul. That is the only location in the entire country. With all of what I mentioned above in mind, South Korea presents a ripe opportunity for expansion to begin with several locations in Seoul and then expand outward from there.…
