The Blue Army: A Short Story
All of the students and teachers quieted down. We all looked towards the stage.
Mr. Steven started, "Today is the annual draft. This is the monumental day when ten of our students will be drafted into the war in the Blue Army. The teachers and I have already chosen out of the whole student body which students will be registered, and we will call them out in order of ranking they had while attending our academy. We will begin momentarily."
He walked to the side of the stage, while the president, President Bernston, of the land the Blue Army is from land, walked to the center of the stage.
Normally, the governor of that city calls the names out, but since this is the capital, President Bernston presents it himself.

I started to turn red a little as everybody watched me walk to the stage, and I had many racing thoughts going through my head, but I could not help but notice Jake's smile falter for a second when I was called up.
President Bernston announced as I stepped onto the stage, "These ten, ladies and gentleman, are those chosen to fight in this war."
I heard everyone chanting the names of those chosen, including mine, as everyone in the stands stood up.
President Bernston moved away from the podium and off to the side of the stage, while Mr. Steven walked back to the podium and announced, "This concludes the end of our ceremony. Visit with these ten before they leave while you can."
I made my way to part of the gym, while my friends began to pile up around me to celebrate. Looking around the room, I noticed President Bernston slip away quietly, not even bothering to say goodbye to his own son.
Suddenly, Taylor shouted right in my ear in excitement, causing me to flitch and pulling me out of my train of thought, "Finn! You were freaking chosen as number one! Holy crap!"
Ethan walked over and put his arm around my shoulder, and jokingly ruffled my hair. "Nice
