Berlin Wall opened (1989)
The opening of the Berlin Wall in 1989 emanated from a complex combination of factors. Such causes include the intensification of new liberal leaders, vanishing of communism and economic uncertainty in Europe as well as the escalation of nationalism in East Germany. The fall of the Berlin Wall meant liberation and amalgamation of Germany. The aforementioned had global significance as it showed the unification of entire Europe therefore ending the cold war.
