The Bar: A Fictional Narrative
When we approached the bar, there was only one stool available. I told Dawn that she could sit down, but she insisted that I have the stool. Maybe she didn’t want to sit her bare ass on the cold seat. I wasn’t sure, and I didn’t ask her why because the other bartender handed Dawn a shot and she gave me one also. We downed the shot with ease and swallowed another before I remembered that Shay was waiting for me.
“Dawn, how do you get to the deejay booth?”
“Do you see those stairs?” She asked as she pointed to a corner near the bar.
“Yeah. I see them.”
“Okay. Take those stairs and make a left at the top. Are you Shay’s girlfriend or something?”
“Girlfriend? No, we’re only friends.”
“Yeah, right,” Dawn laughed as she the bartender handed her another shot.

The more money I threw, the more Dawn humped the stage and opened her legs wide. When she climbed the pole, I was in awe of her skills and wanted to try some of those moves myself. Now the stage was covered with money, and she couldn’t walk without stepping on dollar bills.
My heart almost exploded on my chest with as she moved closer to me. When she shimmied her double D's in my face, I tossed more money up on the stage and so did the men that were standing around me. I couldn’t believe that all the attention was on us as a spotlight fell on top of my head. After I had thrown the last few dollars that were in the bucket I was holding, I dropped it on the floor.
Since I didn’t have any more money to throw, I didn’t know what was about to happen. That’s when Dawn walked off the stage and took me by the hand. I was so nervous that I thought I was going to pass out. The crowd roared even louder as she grabbed a chair from a table. I grinned from ear to ear as I followed her onto the stage. When she put the chair down, she pushed me down in the chair and started giving me a

It was late at night, the wind was blowing, the storm was raging, and the power was out. Everyone in my house was in the basement bailing water, or holding flashlights so the people bailing could see where the water laid. Suddenly, the phone starts to ring, I run upstairs to get it. It was Shayanna. She had called to tell me that I had made the part of Susan in the play if I was interested. I went and got my mom, who was sopping up water with some towels at the time, and told her that Shayanna wanted me to play the part of Susan, and that Shayanna would like to talk to her.…

My mom’s words really meant a lot to me, but I didn’t have time to thank her for them because the announcer was announcing the final couple of the night. I gave her a quick hug and went to meet Macy. She looked even more beautiful than she had in the store and I couldn’t think of any girl I would rather be with at that moment. We complemented each other perfectly, in looks and personalities. Macy was the only girl for me and it was pretty clear I was the only man she needed as well. We met at the top of the stairs and quickly whispered an “I love you” as the announcer began talking about our lives. By the time the announcer had finished I didn’t want it to be over, but I knew the night could only get…

She asked me what my name was and I replied,” Roger”. Then she told me to go wash my face. She left the door right open I thought I could make a run for it, but I didn’t want to put myself in any more danger. The lady got up and left the room only looking at her purse. She said her name was Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. I was amazed by how long her name was but I had no time to think about that. I took care to sit on the other side of the room so she wouldn’t suspect anything. Then she heated some lima beans and ham she had in her icebox. I had to admit I was starving. She also made some cocoa. As we ate dinner she said,” Now, here, take this ten dollars and buy yourself some blue suede shoe.” Then she led me down the hall and I didn’t know what to say. As I walked out the door she told me goodnight and to be safe, but I didn’t say anything back. No words can explain how grateful I am for her to do the things for me. Then she shut the door. I was relieved when I got home. Man… What a…

“…Let’s slow down the tempo a bit.” With that being announced by the DJ, Liam, the lights dimmed out. Anna suddenly threw herself at me, wrapped her arms around my neck. I tried to be polite and went with the flow. Things were getting worst when she got too close to me, to the point where she was rubbing her body against mines. I started feeling really uncomfortable, and decided that I’ve had enough of this. I swiftly pulled away from her, and headed towards Miss Grainger.…

The girls and I, had decided to go to the Midway Bar and Grille. When we got there, the lights were dim, the music was bumping, and everybody grooved away in the night to the smooth, yet banging, hip-hop and r&b songs that the DJ played. We headed straight to the bar where everyone started out at to get tipsy. Ainisha had ordered all three of us, Long Island Iced Teas, which consist of about seven to eight different clear liquors.…

"What an audience we have out here!" The man nervously. Clearing his voice again, he started the show. "The story that is going to be told to you tonight, will somewhat be fascinating, bone-chilling, hysterical..... I could come up with much more descriptions for this, but I'd rather not. At that, the man left the stage. Then a woman came up into the light. She was short about five feet, maybe. Her black hair glistened in the light, and her eyes carefully moved across the room. After a few moments, she began to softly talk.…
