The Army Values
The Army Values The Army values are; Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. The seven Army values is what being a soldier is all about, it’s what defines us. When you see a soldier walking down the street you can see these seven values in the way he/she presents he/she self. The seven Army values are broken down to us in the acronym “LDRSHIP”.
Loyalty:
To bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S constitution, the Army, your unit and other soldiers. Believing in and devoting yourself to something or someone, a loyal soldier is one who supports his/her leadership and stands up for other soldiers. By wearing the uniform you are expressing your loyalty to this nation.
Duty: Fulfill your obligations. Doing your duty means more than just carrying out the tasks that are assigned to you. Duty means being able to accomplish your small tasks to help complete your units big tasks as a team. Every small task is work towards the overall goal at that time and you should always hold your task as mission essential.
Respect: Treat people as they should be treated. Respect is trusting that every other soldier has done their jobs and fulfilled their duties. Respect is also knowing when to listen and do as you’re told. The army is one team and you have to respect each individual that makes up this team.
Selfless service: Put the welfare of the nation, the Army and your subordinates before your own. Selfless service is larger than just one person. With serving your country, you are doing your duty without the thought of recognition or gain. It is the commitment of each team member to going a little further, enduring a little longer, and looking to see how he or she can add more.
Honor: The nation’s highest military award is the medal of HONOR. It is to live up to the Army values. Honor is a matter of carrying out, acting, and living the values in everything you do. Integrity: Integrity is doing what’s right, legally and
