The alarm clock rang
The Worst Day The alarm clock rang. I slowly turned over to look at the clock, 7:35. What 7:35! I jumped out of bed as fast as I could. How long was it going off for? Why did I not wake up? I had so many questions going through my head, but I only had 10 minutes to hurry up and get ready. Hair, teeth, makeup, and soccer gear that’s everything I thought to myself. At the exact moment I heard the loud squealing of the buses brakes. I took off running as fast as I could through the neighbor’s yard and to make things even better it was raining. The rain drops felt like a slap to the face as they hit me. As I got to the bus stop the bus left. I stood there for a moment letting the large rain drops bounce off my skin. Then I started walking to school. I knew right then and there that this was going to be a really bad day. Once I finally got to school I was thirty-five minutes late and missed part of my class. The first thing my class did when they saw me was laugh at the soaking wet disaster standing in front of them. It looked as if I had been thrown into a swimming pool, even my teacher was laughing at me. After she was done giggling she excused me out of the class to go change my clothing. As if I wasn’t bad enough all I had to wear was my gym clothes. “Great” I thought to myself, “I’m going to look like a bum.” I very slowly pulled off my soaking wet clothes but it wasn’t easy, my clothes felt like they were glued to my skin. When I was done changing my clothes I staggered my way back to class. I was very hesitant to enter the room full of my peers, but decided that it would just be easier to get it done and over with. I walked in and immediately walked to the back of the room. Only 45 minutes left I told myself. I kept repeatedly telling myself how much time was left until the bell rang. When the bell rang I rushed out of the room and ran to my next class. I wasn’t paying much attention to anyone else I just wanted to be in my next class. All of a sudden I

It started out like any other day. I got out of bed and scrambled to get out the door after I took an extra hour in the shower. I hopped into a seat next to my best friend Erin. We talked for the ten minute ride before finally arriving at school. I sat down in homeroom waiting for the bell to ring. Brrriinnngggg! I rushed to Mrs. Gregory’s room for Lit. Everything was fine until gym class. I had forgotten my assignment notebook in Mrs. Saphir’s room so I ran back upstairs to get it from under my chair. As I started to walk back towards the locker room I heard the bell ring… late! I walked into the locker room hoping Mrs. Dennis wouldn’t notice my tardiness, but my locker is right next to her office. I quickly filled out a minor for before…

Trying to go to school the next day. Standing in the shower thinking maybe if I dont get out I wouldn't have to start my day and move on with it all. But as the water turns to a shivering cold I realize it’s all too real. Pushing through the first five periods of the day, the last three seemed as too much. Feeling as if I will never be able to be happy again. All these gloomy days crafted me into who I am today. This whole experience making me grow up just a little bit faster, and a little more mature and understanding seeming as I already live the life as an adult, but only being a…

I wake up in 6:50 am in the morning, go through my daily routine of brushing my teeth, get dressed, and get in the car. During the drive, the car hits a truck and instead of exploding, everything begins to turn sideways and then I passed out. When I wake up I see a teacher scolding me for sleeping in his class. I began to look out of the 8th grade window and see that the whole school was on it’s side and the the tree were twisted to resemble Twizzlers©. Suddenly, everything begins to melt and I pass out again. This time I wake up to my computer where this story is being typed for mrs. McAuley’s 8th grade ela class .…

Only 2 tedious hours of school and I could go home and lay in my queen size bed with my body sized pillow because today was just not my day. As i walk into Mr. Schwantes class I see an egg, a cup filled with water, and toilet paper roll. I know right then and there we are doing a really fun activity. Mr. Schwantes was always a fun teacher. He was very helpful as well. I could always count on him to cheer me up. I take a seat and read the board and do what it says. “ Good morning boys and girls!!” Mr. Schwantes says as he walks in the room, “ We will be doing an experiment today. Please move all of your stuff to the back counter when you are done with your blog.” As i stand up to go put my folder and notebook on the back counter I start feeling a little light headed. What was wrong with me? My stomach aches and i'm really dizzy. After standing there for about 20 seconds i feel fine again. I place my items on the back counter and take my seat, I just couldn't get the fact that the big game was tonight and i didn't feel good out of my head. “Are you okay Kierra,” Mr. Schwantes asks, “You look a little…

I hated to leave them there but I can’t be late for class. I kept running and my eyes were focused behind me to make sure none of the cheerleaders were following me, luckily they weren’t but I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. The second I looked in front of me, I ran into a girl carrying a ton of books. I ended up tackling her and everything she was carrying fell to the ground. I jumped to my feet and helped the girl stand, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry. Are you ok?” I asked while picking up her books. The girl nodded and grabbed her folders and notebooks that fell out of her backpack. I looked at the girl, she had long brown hair that was up in a ponytail, there were purple glasses resting on her face. She wore a grey jacket, black…

It had been a crazy morning as I ran all over my house trying to find my jacket and boots. My mom had been admitted into the hospital that morning for a massive headache and all I could think about was whether or not she would be okay. I took her to the emergency room that day before so going to class was the last thing on my mind. My father and sister had agreed to stay with her till I ended class so I was more at ease knowing she wouldn’t be alone. After running all over my house looking for my things I quickly gathered myself to make my train. I finally got to Penn Station with four minutes to spare. I quickly walked to where the rest of my class was as we waited for instructions to where we would…

I headed to my first class which just so happened to be my favorite subject, English. The hallways were very wide but when filled with students I felt like I had to shove my way through just to get to my locker. The lockers were a mixture between Gray and purple. The school colors were supposed to be purple and silver but there was no way that these lockers could be considered. I took a look at the little piece of paper that the lady in the office had given me and tried out the combination on my locker. It took me about five minutes to open it and after struggling for that long I was a little irritated so when it did open, it flew open and slammed into the locker next to mine. I held my breath and hoped that nobody had noticed. I took a long deep breath and slowly opened my eyes again. Luckily I was still standing alone and nobody around was looking at me. I put my extra books and notebooks into the locker and and closed it as quietly as I could.…

The end of the day bell rings as I grab my notebooks and rush out of class. The hallways are loud as I hear lockers slamming shut. I jog towards my old red locker that was across the hall from the 10th grade math room. I twist the combination in, 8-23-2. I hear a click as I swing open the rusty door and shove my notebooks into my denim backpack. I close my locker after grabbing my bag; running towards the exit, trying to race my sister to her car.…

As my mother dropped me off at school, like all mothers do with providing me with the typical mother speech about behave in school, come home right after school, and let the dogs out. I get out the car and ran across the school parking lot for my morning Reading and English class in the downpour of rain now. I made it to class on time, but I was soaked from the rain. During this class period, the teacher was providing us an over view for our reading assignment before we were scheduled to go to lunch. That day, another classmate and I was next to the multi-window structured wall that provided the only natural light in the room and the register was blowing out heat. I was sitting there listening to the teacher, but I was distracted by the rain pounding on the windows and noticed how hard the rain was coming down outside. I looked outside and you could not see more than foot in front of you. At that moment, I remember looking down at the ground to see how much water was on the ground and a bird was trying to fly by the window. But, the bird was being pushed to the ground due to the pressure from the rain. Then the teacher said, “We are going to hold off going to lunch for a moment until the rain let’s up.” I look back know and remember the teacher’s facial expression that grew from a very calm person to pure panic in her eyes in a split second, this unexpected change describe for individuals under the nine common stressors by our co-authors. The teacher eyes got wide as softballs and she started shaking, then yells out “Everyone get on the floor now!” I had barely enough time to hit the floor before I heard a large sound like a locomotive coming and then a huge explosion going off. The wall of windows exploded and I felt myself being pushed across the floor by the force of the tornado and the table hit me on top my head,…

It was a week into my senior year in Ganesha High School. Walking into my third period AVID class, right after our 10 minute nutrition break, everybody, rowdy and noisy, talked about what they had done that weekend or what they had seen at break. As usual I walked towards my seat and as usual it was a task. My school bag was hanging on my side and I had my breakfast box that was filled with a milk carton, an apple, and a packaged bread in my hand; I walked and tried not to trip over the carelessly left bags on the isle. People stood up even after the bell had rung and the noise level was still high. I finally got to my seat; first row, first seat, right next to the teacher’s desk in which he had his computer. I put my bag down on the floor and put my breakfast box on top of my desk. The teacher, Mr. Mariles, came in and everybody took their seat, the noise level lowered distinctively. I turned over to face my friend who was sitting behind me. I whispered to her “Do you know what we’re doing in class today?” she whispered back “I think we are working on our personal statement.” I turned to face the front of the class, with a disgusted expression on my face. The teacher then started to explain what we were going to do that day. He had a smile in his face and was making hand movements all over the…

I got to this nice little diner around the corner of hoover and 5th Ave. it was practically empty except for this guy sitting at the counter and this blonde girl sitting in a booth all alone. I sat in the booth across from her sitting in the opposite bunk I tried not to stare at her but I couldnt help myself. As we began walking through the hallway, I could tell she was ticked off. She was so angry that you could hear her shoes pounding on the carpet. I followed her down the hallway making sure I kept a little distance between us in fear of being yelled at. The principal’s shoes continued to pound the carpet harder and harder. My heart pounded with each step she made down the hall. We were almost to my classroom when I looked to the right and saw my mother with her class. My mom looked over and knew that something was wrong. I could not look at her for I had tears in my…

It was the first day back to school from fall break I woke up in a good mood ready to see all my friends. I walked in the building with my new outfit I bought over the weekend. I walked in the breakfast room to get some breakfast and I was suddenly drenched in pancakes and syrup. I was livid and whomever had done this was going to get it. As I looked up I seen a girl she was as big as a house her hair was looked like a birds nest , she smelled like old people and moth balls. I immediately started screaming at her after I called her a fat horse she dropped her tray and ran off crying. After I got myself cleaned I started to feel kind of bad because she was a new student and I embarrassed her in front of everyone.…
