The African Slave Trade
15th century, after the Portuguese started exploring they discovered Africans, they thought they would have goods that we don’t and that we should trade with them. That's what the Portuguese did, they traded salt for gold. Soon after that realizing that the European population was decreasing rapidly because of diseases and other harmful things is when they decided to move Africans to the Americas. This is what led up to the discovery of the African Slave trade in the Atlantic World.
Well since the Americas was expanding the amount of labor they needed was abundant. Knowing that Africans have very little knowledge of the American land and had some knowledge of working in the fields they took them in. Bringing them in from ships in a large amount
