Tet Holiday
TET HOLIDAY; WHY IT IS IMPORTANT
Many countries each have various holidays. There are unique ones only happening in a certain nation or region. There also are some celebrated by most people in the world. New Year’s Day is one of these. It can be celebrated on different dates in different ways, but it always is one of the most important occasions of a year. In Asia, New Year’s Day is a family holiday. After a whole busy year, working and travelling, this is time for people to come home, back to their families. To welcome the coming year, people clean and decorate their houses. All members in a family work together and get the job done. For example, in my family, my mother takes care of the cooking, my father cleans the house and I decorate it. We spend time doing our job, and helping the others. This always makes me happy. My parents are usually busy so they don’t have much time to spend with me. New Year is a rare occasion for us to be with each other and relax.
In Western countries, New Year’s Day represent a fresh start. After a year with both failure and success, New Year’s Day is good opportunity for people to try their best again. They can apply lesson learning from the past to have a better start. People also make some resolutions on New Year’s Day and promise not to break them. This is a way to show their determination to have a better new year. Moreover, the holiday is good occasion for buying new stuff because there is some very large sale right after January 1. People can purchase good household or electronic devices with a very cheap price. For instance, last year, my uncle in America bought me a new laptop in this kind of sale. It cost only 300 dollars instead of 650 at the other time.
People everywhere enjoy celebrating the New Year. It is an important occasion. It’s a time for people to spend time with family, make a fresh start, and change some bad habits to have a good new year.

One of the reasons why I think Christmas is the best national holiday is because, it's a great time to spend quality time with the family. For example, everyone in my family either has the day off, takes the day off, or is on winter break. We get together and have a family dinner party, my cousins from California come in from town and we always have a great time. Every year gets better and better. The family gets together and spend quality time with each other. They either go out, have dinner, open presents, sing holiday carols, go to church, and much more. Spending time with your family is priceless. All you got to have is your family and you can always have fun with them. This is important because, as you get older, you go to college, you move out, start your own family, and drift away from your family. Because of Christmas, you can use this day to bring your family together, and it would feel like you guys were never apart.…
