PROFILE OF THE SCHOOL AND STUDENTS
Our school St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology, City of San Fernando Pampanga is presently applying as a Catholic Institution. One of the requirements demanded by the Commission on Higher Education
(CHED) is to work for catechetical materials indicating on how to help our students participate more actively in our faith despite the fact that some of our students were not formed from Catholic School. In this Catechetical material that is to be produced, the students are to be assisted on how to really appreciate the Old Testament with the touch of Salvation History.
Specifically, the material aims at exposing the values that the students could possibly adapt from the teachings of the
Old Testament. Do they benefit from the evidence of our faith, history, and understanding of the nature of God and of man? Knowing that they are in the College Level, the context of the catechesis to be expounded is basically experiential in approach. It basically challenges the students to apply the knowledge of their faith in different human situations. The relation of the experiences of the people of God into the experiences of the students must be incorporated. Hence, the students must be able to situate themselves with the different signification of the biblical theme and context. An experiential approach to the Old Testament may be helpful in enhancing the interest of the students in the study of scriptures and may even guide them to response in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A message is to be selected which is appropriate for the student, then communicated to him by the teacher (Mitchell, p276). A regimen must be in place which encompasses an organized, structured designed curriculum (Mitchell, p279). Yet we must not simply fill people’s heads with Biblical knowledge and principles (Barna 2001, p89). Because of the diversity of believer’s backgrounds and abilities, the message has been taught in random, rather than systematic methods (Barna 2001, p91). This incongruity has resulted in good information being lost if it is presented without context, or application to the believers’ life.…

Religious studies and Theology are undoubtedly of invaluable effect on the life of the learner. The two studies have the mandate of transforming the overall perception to life as regards religion, personal beliefs and the philosophy of life. In this study, an array of topics were studied which in the end further enlightened on the mental conception and most interesting was the study involving the claim by Jesus that he was God. In addition to these, the course was informative and elaborates on the questions most people ask about the life of modern day Christians. Does it matter the lifestyle one adopts? Are there any procedures the church can initiate so as to communicate God 's love for the community in a manner that is not questionable and without doubt, but, remains beneficial to all Christians? Indeed, the questions are very relevant and of great importance to any present day Christian living in faith and in such hard times where confusion and…

There are five types of Educational Approaches/ Theories. As an educator you will not use them all but the ones that is geared towards the way you teach and interact with your students. These five approaches/theories will be implemented into this course will be the Human Relations Approach, Multicultural Education Approach, Teaching of the Exceptional and Culturally Different, Single-Group Studies Approach, and Multicultural Social Justice Approach. Each theory plays a major part in educating students about culture and diversity. The Human Relation Approach basically consists of developing positive relationships among diverse groups and individuals to fight stereotyping and promote unity (Bank & McGee, 2013). It is teaching students to value one another for who they are and where they come from role playing, group activities, and day to day experiences. LOJCA’s school pledge states with “God as a guide, knowledge as stride, and confidence as pride, the students are destine to achiever in society”. According to Leo Nora Cohen of OSU School of Education, Idealism is “to discover and develop each individual's abilities and full moral excellence in order to better serve society”. (Cohen) LOJCA also teaches and involves students in civic responsibility and duty that educates them with superior leadership skills, team building ethics and capabilities enabling them to make an impact wherever they go. In Idealism “the main emphasis is subject matter of mind: literature, history, philosophy, and religion. Teaching methods focused on handling ideas through lecture, discussion, and Socratic dialogue (a method of teaching that uses questioning to help students discover and clarify knowledge). Introspection, intuition, insight, and whole-part logic are used to bring to consciousness the forms or concepts which are latent in the mind”.…
