While I focus on the content of your essay for my grading, clarity of presentation and organization is essential for me to follow your ideas. A good starting point is to look at the case discussion questions in Quiz 4. But your answer cannot be a series of answers to questions but must rather be an essay. Some of these questions will guide your case analysis and should be an aid to you in formulating your answer. Therefore, reading the case before the end of the third week so as to deal with these questions should help you do well in the case project. A good approach to the project is to make sure you include all the elements that I look for in my grading of your assignment.…

There are any number of possible approaches to analyzing a case. The most important point to remember is that case analysis involves decision making. There is no absolutely right or wrong solution to a case problem. Your major task as a decision maker is to present a coherent and defensible analysis of the situation based on human resource management concepts and theories. Just as managers in the “real world” must persuade their colleagues and superiors that their proposals are sound, so must…

The e-reader industry is thriving now; and at the expense of the traditional book publishing industry. People are still reading, but they are using different channels, such as the internet, and tablets like the I-pad are crushing the once mighty print industry. “The book publishing industry has entered a period of long-term decline because of the rising sales of e-book readers. For the traditional book publishing industry, the implications of the rise of the e-book and e-book reader markets are frightening, given the decline in paper book printing, distribution and sales (Kolakowski, 2011).” According to Kolakowski, the future does not seem bright for traditional book publishers. “Physical book sales will decline at a compound annual rate of 5 percent. While e-book sales will rise during that same period, the increase won’t cover the revenue gap created by the decline in the physical book market. By 2014, the research note predicts, e-books will occupy some 13 percent of U.S. book publishing revenue, more than twice its current level (Kolakowski, 2011).” Like vultures swarm over…
