Selecting project team members is an important decision and should be done carefully. The project manager has to be sure that the members that are selected are going to work efficiently. The members which are selected have to be team players and be able to follow the policies and procedures to complete the project. The project manager should have goals that are there to guide and provide a teaching. One should be the ability to learn and want to learn, and acquiring a sense of confidence. Acquiring the ability to learn the basic rules and objectives, developing on- the- job training, and learning to follow directions and accept responsibility. In order to have team building strategies there should be team building exercise that can get everyone involved who will be completing the project. There should be goals and incentives that are set to ensure that everyone wants to accomplish the task set before them. A plan has to also be set in order for a strategy to fulfill the mission. Acquiring goals within the project is a guide to monitor situations with the employees and have them focus on what needs with the project.
Having a strategic plan is the guide to goals and to succeed in a business that has been marketed as strong and the ability to make a difference in a community struggling. The potential areas of conflict within a diverse team project would be not everyone agreeing on the procedures which should be used to complete the project. There may be some people that want to use shortcuts and others will follow the directions from the project manager. In order for everyone to be aware of what will be taking place with the project there has to be a strong line of communication between the project manager and the employees.
