Team Case Analysis: The Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors began the 2015-2016 season quite strong. They were able to finish the regular season at 73-9, which was one better win than the Chicago Bulls in their 1995-1996 season, making the Golden State Warriors the best team in all NBA history. The only difference between the two teams, was that the Chicago Bulls won that championship, while the Golden State Warriors did not. And although the Golden State Warriors didn’t win that championship, they broke several records, including Curry hitting 402 threes during the season, breaking the previous record of 100. Despite setting the record of 54-straight regular season home game winning streak, the Golden State Warriors did not take the championship home. In Game …show more content…
Either the team relied on the stronger players to carry the team, or they just felt like they had it in the bag, especially after their winning streak. Time and time again, the top two or three players scored the majority of the points in games. This winning streak of theirs, is not the usual, so we can infer that they got cocky and maybe even lazy. They felt unbeatable and didn’t try as hard as they …show more content…
Curry scored 38 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. Klay Thompson scored 25 points, four rebounds, and one assist. In addition, the Warriors broke another NBA record in this game by scoring 17 three pointers which is the most for a single Finals game. This win made it the 88th win of the season, breaking the Chicago Bull’s 1995-1996 record of 87 wins in an NBA season.
At the end of the game, there was an altercation between LeBron James and Draymond King. Green had fallen, and LeBron stepped over him so Green felt disrespected and swung at LeBron, making contact with his groin and having to be separated. Because of this, Green was assessed a Flagrant Foul 1 for the incident, making it the fourth flagrant foul point in the playoffs, so ha was suspended for Game 5. Green became the first player to get suspended during Finals since Jerry Stackhouse was suspended in 2006. LeBron was given a technical foul for taunting Green.
Green’s suspension could’ve also been a big reason for their demise. The Golden State Warriors is known for their “death lineup.” Draymond Green is one of the five players who make up that lineup. One person from that death lineup can do a lot more than the average player, so bringing in another guy to replace him was not going to bring what Green brought to the

The Warriors went 73-9 to beat the 96 bulls season record for most games won in a nba season. The Warriors went to the finals and almost lost to the OKC thunder and game back from a 3-1 deficit. Even though the warriors lost to the Cleveland Cavilers, they won by picking up the superstar Kevin Durant wo is a very versatile player. The media have been talking about his recent decision to play for the Warriors because they are already a great team. Sports Illustrated says “It’s true that Kevin Durant can do whatever he wants with his career and his life. But this is also true: We do not have to care, or even watch. As long as we do, we are entitled to opinions about what he does, and I think his move to Golden State Warriors stinks. It is a competitive cop-out, worse than saying, “If you can’t beat them, join them, because Durant could have beaten the Warriors, and he joined them…

Because Paul Gaffney said this about team work in sports “Teamwork in sport presents a variety of special challenges and satisfactions. It requires an integration of talents and contributions from individual team members, which is a practical achievement, and it represents a shared pursuit, which is a moral achievement. In its best instances team sport allows members to transform individual interests into a common interest, and in the process discover of part of their own identities. Teamwork is made intelligible by the collective pursuit of victory, but moral requirements importantly condition that activity.” (Gaffney, Paul). I believe if the Point University Basketball team first understand the meaning of teamwork and how it can help them win games. There was one insistent of the team agreeing on one thing together. That day both the captains got together and said to the team what is one thing we are trying to accomplish as a team this year the whole team agreed and said the all want to win a conference campion chip or to get a ring. I believe that was the only sign of teamwork that I’ve seen come from the team this year where they all came to gather as a team and said we are going to when a championship this year. I think teamwork is one of the best keys that the team needs to come together and help each other win rather than each time they lost a game one of our player would never take credit for the lose the just took the “non-team player” is to selfish to take credit for the lost they just blame it on the…
