This high performance team model took a lot of critical thinking and group think to design. Critical thinking is defined as, skillful, accountable thinking where the group studied the problem from every aspect and then used our better judgments to come up with the most effective solution. Group think is where the group found out what the problem was by agreement and came up with the best way to deal with it. This team worked great together as a whole. The team has grown to have cohesion. Cohesion is defined as, uniting or bounding as one. The team did not have many relationship conflicts at all. Relationship conflicts are when the teams can’t agree with respect to personal relationships or inconsistency in personal morals or what the other team member likes. Yes the team had to negotiate over and over again but the team eventually came up with a solution. Danielle took on the task of team leader; a leader is just the directing head person. Lisa was the collaborator. A collaborator works together, especially in a cooperative rational effort. Abiodun worked well as the negotiator and image person. She negotiated and researched the images for the team. The model took several team meeting to design. The team first sat down and gathered their thoughts’, communicated their ideals and came up with a common goal for the model. The model seems to be designed rather well; it touches on several OB concepts that are of importance for developing a high performance team.
The model communicates commitment, trust and integrity. As we all know trust is important in any situation especially team work. All team members must commit themselves to trust upon the integrity of others to accomplish their common goal. Team members used their abilities and skills to gain more diversification. Each member added their specific skills to the model. As a high performance team the model demonstrates agreeableness, communication and managing conflict.
