When I think about credibility I think about honesty, trust, and knowledge. Does this also apply to musical artists? They must be true to what they write about. Could this person be a friend of mine? I would hope that they would be a caring and an honest friend. I like a wide variety of main stream music being released today, but still, there are only a few artists that I will follow no matter what they put out, simply because their music reaches out to to me. I normally do not like it when artists try to impress their fans by acting like someone they are not. An artist must be original—create their own image to the world and along with that, a new, fresh twist on modern music that generally sounds the same. Overall, when listening to an artist, I expect them to have an honest connection with the audience, originality, and above all, be the same person that I fell in love with in the beginning. Taylor Swift, born on December 13th, 1989, began writing songs at the early age of five. It was evident that she was born with the natural talent of songwriting, but it wasn 't until she was thirteen that she got signed onto a record deal. Unfortunately for her, though, she got out of it because they wanted her to sing other writer 's songs. She felt like it inhibited her of creativity and originality. It wasn 't long after that before Swift became the youngest songwriter to sign a publishing deal with Sony. Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records, eventually convinced Swift to write and sing under his recording contract, ultimately launching Taylor Swift 's career. In 2006, Big Machine Records released her first album that was self titled with her debut single, “Tim McGraw”, which she wrote in a classroom in high school. Swift was only sixteen.
By the time Swift turned 18, she had already won the CMA 's Horizon award which had past winners like Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks, and Carrie Underwood. She had
