Task 6 Childminding Charter
As a childminder, I understand that it is important to build a good relationship between myself and the children’s parents,
I am going to do this by:
 Making sure I have time to discuss parents’ concerns regarding their children
 Informing parents of child’s activities through use of a daily diary issued to each child, emails, text messages, phone calls.
 On request from parents I will share child’s progress information with other settings e.g. preschool/nursery.
 I will send out a parent questionnaire every 3 months
 Where possible I will include parents in planning activities.
 Always allowing the children’s parents to access any records held on my records.
 Parents are requested to keep me informed of any circumstances that may affect their children emotionally e.g. bereavement, separation or illness in the family.
 Parents are asked to keep me informed of any changes to personal circumstances that may have an effect upon their children e.g. change of address, phone numbers, doctor, emergency contact.
 Parents will be made aware that all information they provide about their children are kept confidential and treated on a strict need to know basis. (Please see my confidentiality policy for full details.)

Children make progress at different rates and have different ways in which they learn best. My setting will take into account that children make progress at different rates and all learn by different ways even from the same activity. I will look carefully at how I organise my home environment, books, resources and level appropriate activities to meet each individual child's needs. Adequate planning ensures that children follow the both Birth to Three Matters Framework and the Foundation Stage Curriculum.
Below is a rough daily routine showing how all age ranges are covered.

8.15-8.30 school run
