There has been lots of women that had lots of contributions to society like Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Susan B. Anthony, etc. But in order for these women to impact society as much as they did, they had to go through a lot of discrimination from men saying that they don’t know what they’re talking about or that because they are women they just shouldn’t be trusted and things like that. In Taming of The Shrew, the main job of a girl was to find a man to get married to and when that happens, the wife’s job is to be loyal to the man and always do what the man wants them to do and always side with the man in everything they say politically or socially. Because of that rule that women have to abide by, this rule makes women’s contribution to society not great because even though the main role in the book is a girl, it’s about her being tamed by a man into a loyal, obedient maiden. And nowadays the role of women is the same as men, accomplishing anything isn’t super difficult for women nowadays. Given that, women now have the option to have complete separation from men. The roles of women nowadays compared to in the book is that women nowadays have a lot more freedom than in the book when women have to stick beside a men’s
