taking a gap year
Taking a gap year a sword with two blades. It strikes me that the students should take a gap year. I think that students should have the time to refresh their mind before joining university. However a sizeable number of people may oppose me. For instance, some people say that if the students took a gap year he / she can find a job, therefore they would earn money and they will not think about the university anymore. Moreover, the gap year makes the students lose their motivation and their study skills will be diminished. Additionally, the student who had a gap year will be a year behind his students. The gap year could be wasting of time as the student does not accomplish any thing in a gap year, the student just lazes around and may gain weight. In addition, if the student took the decision to travel, the travel expenses may be very expensive and they prefer to use the money to help with their studies. On the other hand, other opinion says that it is a golden chance to travel before university and discover other cultures. Furthermore, it gives the students time to figure out exactly what they want to do. Gap year makes the students enthusiastic and zealous about learning.Taking a gap year makes the student more mature and rational. It is an opportunity to have a break from studying and burning out of studying you can unwind and clear your head. A gap year offers you time to prepare your future and your career. Besides, students should have time to enjoy their youth and explore and contemplate. To sum up, taking a gap year is a controversial topic and worth debating.

He continues his claim by expressing that while in the past colleges have frowned upon taking a gap year, colleges today are actually suggesting students to take a constructive year off to get themselves mentally and physically ready before attending a university. Colleges believe students who do this come to college more ready to succeed…

Frequent breaks in the school year allow students and teachers to recharge themselves, be more active in class, and have higher academic achievement. Students and teachers can get tired if they have ongoing class for ten months without a break big enough to recharge. Some of the illnesses that people could have fought off when they were fully rested could make them sick and make more people absent (edweek.org).
