a. There are many beautiful and worth seeing historical places in India, but the Taj Mahal of Agra is the most intriguing palace in the world.
b. Today I will be talking about the Taj Mahal.
c. I will be covering three main points such as why it was built, how it was built and what it is today.

a. Why the Taj mahal was built.
i. According to our tour guide, the Taj mahal was built about 350 years ago on the command of the emperor Shah Jahan for his third wife Mumtaz Mahal ii. Mumtaz Mahal was the emperor’s favorite wife. Mumtaz Mahal died after giving birth to her fourteenth child. Even though she passed the emperor decided to make a type of “Heaven on earth” (which is the Taj Mahal) so that even though his wife died he could someway still be with her. iii. This palace was built to show the everlasting love of the king for his queen.
b. How the Taj Mahal was built.
i. The Taj Mahal was built in 1648, with the help of 20,000 of the best artisans and carvers from all around the world, and 1000 elephants to help with the transportation of construction materials. ii. The Taj Mahal stands on top of a raised marble platform. iii. According Dr. Zahoor “the main archways chiseled with passages from the holy Quran and the bold scroll work; give a captivating charm to its beauty.
c. What the Taj Mahal signifies today.
i. Because of the Taj Mahal different aspects of various cultures and its unique structure, it became known as one the 7 wonders of the world. ii. According to National Geography over 3 million people visit the Taj mahal every year. iii. Even though the Taj Mahal is full of Indian culture, it appeals to most everyone because of its portrayal of eternal love.
