Synthetic Marijuana
Summary
Synthetic marijuana is a big trend in our community because there are no drug tests for this yet and you can buy the product at a head shop, and a tobacco store over the counter. This has been an ethical problem in our world today because a lot of people are dying from it, where I am at they had a person die from the synthetic marijuana a brand called "Black Widow." They had a protest in my town to ban the Black Widow because it caused someone to die from the chemicals that was in it. I believe this should be illegal to sell in any store and there should also be a drug test for this before you start a job.

I will be explaining; what synthetic marijuana is, why people smoke it, the side effects of it, and how the government is taking action on the issue. I would hope that after listening to this that you would never give it a second though on whether you should smoke this if ever offered to you, or if you know of someone smoking this that you would warn them about it.
The reason why this is an issue I our community because there are no drug test for this and it is legal to buy. A lot of marijuana smokers that are on probation for real marijuana are smoking the synthetic herbal drug because it gives the same “high”, as the real drug. A lot of people who smoke this synthetic drug are having a bad reaction to fake marijuana. It’s causing them to hallucinate, commit suicide, and brain aneurisms. In my personal opinion I believe they should take this stuff off the market and if people get caught making the stuff themselves they should get the same punishment as if it was real marijuana.
The synthetic marijuana causes so many health problems it’s causing people to die. The symptoms can vary because there are chemicals and other substances added. The researchers show in 2011 poison control reported nearly 7,000 calls about K2 and the calls doubled in 2010. The case reported three teens that arrived in the emergency room showed some signs of abnormal

I personally still don’t know why we are still having a war against this. There is no reported case of dying from over dose of pot. It concerns me that any person can sit on their couch and take a simple bottle or vodka, gin, or Jack Daniels and die within the hour, especially when they’re driving or operating machinery. When one is drunk, they lose control of their body and mind; when one is high, they sit on the couch and eat Cheetos and fall asleep afterwards. What harm is there in that? Like any substance marijuana can be abused, but it is nearly impossible to overdose on. I don’t mean nearly impossible as a challenge, in the article “Marijuana” from drugfactsweek.drugabuse.gov, it states “If you mean can they overdose and die from marijuana--the answer is no, it’s not very likely.” The most common problem associated with marijuana abuse is sluggish behavior, but does not cause serious health issues. Overuse of alcohol will result in an inability to walk, stand, dehydration, blurry vision, profuse vomiting, impaired judgment, and even death, whereas an “overdose” of marijuana will simply put a person to sleep. According to an article from, edgarsnyder.com/drunkdriving “3 in 10 teenagers will be in involved in an alcohol related…

Marijuana has been illegal since 1937. The Marijuana Tax Act, enforced because people believe men of color would solicit sex from white women while under the influence of marijuana. According to multiple tests and the statistics more people have died from cigarettes and alcohol. Marijuana should be legal due to the shear fact that it is safer than alcohol and cigarettes. Marijuana to this day, after 79 years, in some places is still illegal and believed to be more dangerous than cigarettes. This myth is 100% false. About 6 million people die every year from smoking cigarettes including second hand smoke. Statistics show that by 2030 the annual death rate will be 8 million. compare this to virtually nobody dying from a direct cause of Marijuana smoking the numbers are gradually in favor of Marijuana being safer. In fact it takes a consumption of 15 pounds of Marijuana in 15 minutes to “overdose”, which still may not even be fatal. In the film Super High Me,…

The truth of the matter is that scientific studies show that marijuana is not toxic to humans, and the “overdose” amount is so unrealistic as to be laughable. More people have died from prescription drugs, firearms, alcohol, aspirin, or peanut butter than marijuana. There is no evidence that supports marijuana having ever caused any medical deaths. Alcohol and tobacco are both more addictive and dangerous than marijuana (Hubpages, n.d.)…

I don't understand why cannabis is still illegal in this country. To this day, I have not heard an intelligent argument against the legalization and regulation of cannabis. There is so much negative controversy that we get from supports. The fact is, many people would outlaw fast food, cigarettes, and tanning beds because of the harm that they cause America. But this is America and there is about their freedom and this is about their choice. Give the people in our states the choice to enjoy…

Prescription drugs kill about 100,000 people in the world each year. Do you know how many deaths are caused by the use of Marijuana in any way? "There are no deaths from cannabis use. Anywhere. You can't find one," said Dr. Lester Grinspoon, professor emeritus at Harvard Medical School. Marijuana has been one of the most misunderstood herbal medicines in todays culture. With todays culture turning to natural remedies including marijuana should be included. It treats many medical conditions that society has overlooked, due to the point surrounding it. “Marijuana is an addictive gateway drug” (Drug Policy Alliance Network, 2009). There is no good reason to use it, and it does nothing but ruin lives. These statements are frequently made by people who oppose the use of marijuana for medicinal reasons. Unfortunately, these statements are false. Medical breakthroughs would never be a reality if different risks were not taken. For example, long ago radiation was something that everyone was afraid of, but because a risk was taken, cancer patients now have hope of recovery. Someone somewhere believed that just maybe radiation would work, and it did. Marijuana deserves the same opportunity. Many studies have proven that marijuana does have significant medical benefits. There is no proof that marijuana is physically addictive, and furthermore, it is not physically possible to overdose from marijuana consumption (WAMM Organization, 2008). Despite these facts, over the years society has developed a very negative view of marijuana when in reality this drug has far more benefits than negative attributes.…

The use of marijuana in human civilization dates back to 6000 B.C. In this era, China found that cannabis seeds are edible and later discovered a greater use as textiles. From that time period, humanity has made significant advancement, and has discovered further uses for the marijuana plant. Today, marijuana can be used as medical cannabis to treat ailments that other medication cannot possibly treat. Although medical cannabis has some great benefits, in the many countries it is still illegal to possess and/or use. Thus the legalization of marijuana should be legalized through its promising and beneficial results.…

Marijuana is a very prominent and controversial issue in society today. Although many slanderous claims have been made about cannabis in recent history, the truths are slowly starting to resurface. Unfortunately, these truths are under heavy criticism due to the stereotypical view of what people view as the typical “pot smoker.” This skewed perception of a lazy and unmotivated American is the result of over seventy years of propaganda and misinformation spread by private interests who relied on illegal cannabis illegal from their own personal gains. As a marijuana consumer and a current medical marijuana patient, I strongly believe that marijuana should be legalized for all users. Currently in the United States today, marijuana is prohibited by federal law and has been a topic of controversial debate since the start of the prohibition. There are several, important reasons for the legalization of marijuana, including research concerning these issues are beneficial in understanding both sides of the debate. The result of abolishing our country’s marijuana prohibition by supporting legalization will stimulate the economy, to show the medical properties, and lower the crime rate.…

What many people do not understand about marijuana is that it is a safe drug and not all drugs are bad drugs. “Marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Around 50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. By comparison, marijuana is nontoxic and cannot cause death by overdose.” (NORML, 2015). Marijuana comes in third behind alcohol and tobacco as the most popular recreational drugs. There has never been a death due to marijuana due to the fact that is is nearly impossible to overdose and it is “nontoxic”. It is very confusing to many people as to why this drug is illegal when looking at how safe it is compared to things like alcohol and tobacco…
