With college comes stress; questions about: money, majors, and careers are all students have on their minds. In such an ever changing world people have begun to question whether the educational institution of college is worth the hassle like it use to be. Before, college was thought of as a must to make a living, with college cost rising, now people are considering more classic hands-on jobs to be more fruitful (Source F). Once there was a time when our economy was almost entirely based on artisans of a craft. People performed a service, for which they were paid, and they shook hands to close a deal (Source A). Now, however, our economy has become increasingly impersonal because the internet allows people to perform jobs from across the globe. Which has led many college kids to pursue technological careers in an effort to follow the trend. The downside to many technology based jobs is that they can be outsourced to foreign countries. Some individuals may thrive in a solo entrepreneur endeavor, but others might seek the proven more standardized jobs of modern graduates. Despite the aforementioned “primary goal of college” what truly matters in a career is that a person seeks fulfilment, both monetarily and emotionally. Change is going to happen, so what is fruitful today, might be rotten tomorrow. Therefore, the best plan would be to seek education to the point of success instead of recreation, (Source B), and then use that education to seek out whatever makes your world seem at peace.
