Sylvanas: A Positive Influence In My Life
I held my breath as I held the bowstring, exhaling, I released my nocked arrow and struck the target right in the bullseye. Never in all my Ranger training had I hit that bullseye. I never would have if I never had Sylvanas Windrunner. Sylvanas was a positive influence in my life because she taught me how to be a good marksman, to never back down in times of oppression, and to accept my fate when it comes.

One of Sylvanas’ most memorable lines she ever told me was “In time, death claims us all.” She was never more right, in time, death will claim everyone, and you can do nothing to change that. It also taught me that when my time comes, embrace it, and don’t be scared. When my fellow Rangers fell, I was scared, as I was the only one left fighting with Sylvanas. She told me to run, find a different life, and live it to the fullest I could, and run I did, only when I heard her scream did I stop, but I

I had used the entire quiver and had not even hit the target once. Sylvanas had walked up to me, retrieved my bow from me, collected my arrows, and let loose on the target, hitting every shot fired. I tood in awe at her performance, her unrivaled expertise, kneeling in front of her, I had asked her if could have personal lessons with her, For I thought that the lack of people would help improve my focus. Sylvanas and I had grown very close during the time in which she trained me, and after a time of intense training, I ascended to the rank of ranger lieutenant, and was almost as good of a shot as her.

I have Sylvanas to thank for the bullseye I had made, standing in front of my own recruits. Without her aid, I would have never became Ranger lieutenant, and I would have never made a great friend. The knowledge she had given to me, I give to my recruits to use. That knowledge was too valuable to ignore. I will never forget her teachings, and I will never forget the sacrifice she had made for our

To begin I want to thank you for your service to our country. I admire your benevolence. Phyllis Wheatly was very impressive. Having to face all the discrimination and obstacles people put in her way could not have been easy. Then to still have had such love and pride for this country showed big character on her part after the horrors she she witnessed during her time in slavery. In "To His Excellency General Washington" Phyllis wrote "enough thou know'st them in the fields of fight . Thee first in peace and honor - we demand " in her famous peom that she actually sent to him during this war. This quote acknowledges that America knew how hard it was for our service men on the front lines but we were not going down without a fight. George…

I never gave much thought to how I would die. Maybe it would happen of old age, silently in my sleep, or maybe I’m that one in a million that gets struck by lightning and is mentioned all over the news. For my grandpa, Lawrence Dickerson, it was also something he didn’t give much thought about until he was sent to fight in the Korean War. He explained the agony of being on constant alert because one wrong move could kill you or compromise the safety of your unit, that while in combat you can physically hear the sound of your partner’s heavy heart beat thumping against their chest, and the unsettling thought that any moment can be your last. He went from being a teenager isolated by a small town in West Virginia to a solider who was fighting…

An arrow is a shaft with feather-type vanes near one end, which is notched, and a pointed head on the other end. The notched end of the arrow is mounted against the bowstring, with the pointed head extending just beyond the bow. With one hand braced against the bow and the other gripping the string, an archer pulls back on the string, storing potential energy in the bow. When the archer releases the string, that potential energy is converted to kinetic energy, which is imparted to the arrow, propelling it forward suddenly and swiftly. Bows are used primarily for hunting and for target…

We will all experience it, and it has always been a natural part of life, as well as it being a greatly feared upon aspect of one's persona. In the novel, the author Markus Zusak, proves that death can happen any time by using Liesel’s life story. Moreover, it can also approach at any time given the circumstance. The story prevails that suffering ultimately makes a person stronger and that pain is an essential characteristic of humanity; as we all go through it. “It’s the story of one of those perpetual survivors” (5) death stated. Each story is one ‘attempt’ to prove that every person's existence is worth it: and Liesel is just one example. Always keep your loved ones close and held dearly, as you never know what is going to happen. Six million innocent people taken, and two repeated words . . . Heil…

It’s extraordinary to think about how we take so much for granted - another belief we take for granted is that every night the stars will shine. When you wake up in the morning and make plans for the day, you never really contemplate those plans changing entirely in the blink of an eye. I had never thought much about it, personally, until I was faced with Death himself. I don't think anyone really contemplates tragedy until it knocks on their front door. In fact, it doesn’t even knock – it forces itself in and threatens to leave you with nothing but heartache and suffering for the remainder of your miserable life. Traumatic events can occur in numerous ways, at any time in one’s life. Some are lucky enough to get away with them. Unfortunately, I was not one of the lucky.…

In addition, Dylan Thomas’s “Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" laments the necessity and inevitability of death, encouraging the aged to rebel against their fate. The poem suggests that (to use an old cliché) we should leave this world the way we came in – kicking and screaming, holding on to life for all we're worth.…
