Suspense Story 5 Paragraph
Suspense Paper

James Role is a bank manager in Little Rock, AL. It's the only bank in the small town and everyone knows everyone. The bank hasn't been robbed since the 1800's. James works every day from open to close. He is the first one there and the last one to leave each day.

It was Friday the 13th and James had just driven into the bank parking lot. He got out of his car and was on his way to the front door of the bank when he thought he saw a shadow inside. He opened the door and went in. He thought he had seen the person behind his desk. So he slowly walked up and looked cautiously behind his desk. He realized it was only his coat he had left from the day before. He told himself then he didn't not believe in Friday the 13th and he was going to have a good day.

It was about 10:00am and the bank had just opened. All the sudden this man walked in who was dressed really nice and James had never seen him before. He was to busy talking to his next door neighbor to think anything of the man. All the sudden the man pulls out a MP5 from his suit jacket and demands everyone to get down. One of the tellers started to reach for a panic button but was slammed by the butt of the mans MP5.

The man demanded for James to open the safe and not to try anything stupid. James opened the safe for the man but James had a trick up his sleeve. As the man walked into the safe James reached to his belt and pulled out a hand gun and shot the man in the hand. The man dropped the gun and James grabbed the MP5. He pointed it at the mans head and told him not to move as he locked the man in the safe.

James told one of his workers to call the police while he locked the safe. The police were on the scene in minutes with guns drawn and ready to arrest the man. They opened the safe and hand cuffed the man and threw him in the police car. They told James he was very brave and lucky to be alive. The man was locked up immediately and the town was now safe again. James decided that the bank would be closed on any Friday the 13th from then on.

Hitchcock tends to define suspense in his films by "concern for how a character will respond to a threat about which the audience is already informed. Here, viewers feel suspense for the character rather than fright or shock with the character, [unlike his definition of surprise]" (Cohen 126). In this article, Cohen talks about a second kind of suspense, which she calls conceptual suspense. She describes it as "extending the suspense situation into a larger social/historical arena. This type of suspense makes it possible for certain films to continue to be suspenseful not only when the outcome is known but also when supposedly realistic elements in the film no longer reflect the contemporary practice" (Cohen 127). When watching Shadow of a Doubt through the lens of…

Now that Alan and Joey are stuck there they need to come up with a new plan, How to escape. During this process the robbers have to deal with Zach and his “big mouth” according to Joey.
