Comparison Essay of Can you see the Pride in the Panther and Uncle Jed’s Barbershop
Tupac’s poetry pieces are littered with archetype racial dissociation. However this by no mean discourages the inspiration star who sparked millions to share in the distinction. Shakur's Can you see the pride in the panther and Uncle Jed’s Barbershop by Margaree King Mitchell will be compared to express the heart wrenching situation and plot of two beautiful pieces of literature. In Shakur and Mitchell’s outstanding work, we find similarities in imagery, setting, and theme. Imagery is the distinction of the 5 senses through words and phrases and both authors literature performs in executing the style of writing. “As he grows in splendor and grace Topling obstacles placed in the way, of the progression of his race”. “The sinks would be so shiny they sparkled, the floors so clean you could see yourself”. In these works of evidence share with the reader detailed images that causes you to project an image. In tupac's quote i took from the poem, you can see a black panther running, destroying through its obstacles in a race like freedom. Uncle Jed’s niece also explained in descriptive detail in the shine and sparkle of the barbershop’s floor and created a real image. “The seed must grow regardless of fact that it is planted in stone”. “And outside was going to be big, tall, red and white barber pole”. In Tupac's poetry quote he emotionally describes the struggle of the african american black man and his odds out in life. Do you see the rose that grew through concrete? Sarah specifically describes excitedly the look of her Uncle’s barbershop poles which creates an image that stands out over others. In these two pieces of literature both authors show great imagery and distinctively describes the similarities in the works of these authors. The setting times in these two literary text are also substantially alike
